UF QB Treon Harris suspended indefinitely

#21

My assumption is UF wouldn't suspend him unless they've seen something definitive regarding his guilt.  It is "cute" that this gets turned into a Winston debate.

Huh

Quote:So your solution is suspend the player before all the facts are gathered? You sound like a level-headed fellow.

And what happens if Treon is found not guilty of these alleged sexual assault charges? What is UF supposed to do? Just say "Oh, well, sorry Treon"?

yes, you don't continue to play a player in the midst of accusations that serious.

unless all you care about is football... .then ya, go ahead and play your guy

it's certainly worth mentioning that an investigation has begun literally 24 hours after the accusation vs. MONTHS later.

unless you're an FSU fan and want that part of their history brushed under the rug.  they were complicit in covering up the accusation.... and even when the accusation came to light... no care

So badger, if I go and accuse you of something horrible you should be suspended from your job until the matter gets cleared up?

This could be fun.

To be honest, I don't know about them having anything definitive yet, but I think they are trying to avoid any of flak that FSU got for dragging their feet on the situation there. A Title IX investigation is nothing to sneeze at.

So please tell me all about the evidence on Treon Harris, because from my uninformed perspective it seems you've made up your mind before seeing any.

I don't know if thats true anymore.  Football in general is at a different time than even 6 months ago....Domestic violence/sexual assault is handled much different now.  Schools/teams are forced to handle it differently going forward.

He just had to turn it into FSU gator thing like he does with every college thread. Never mind the fact the uf had more players arrested during their NT run then any college football team during that time. Moral fiber? Lol really?

enough to warrant an investigation.... as there was in the Winston case, however that investigation didn't take place until months later when further evidence had been destroyed

This. None of them want to seem like they are "soft" on violence against women.

cant say the same for FSU.... unless Jameis says a DIRTY WORD... then it's serious because its only one game.  rape accusation? no big deal.  they couldn't afford to wait for the conclusion of the investigation.

I don't even care to argue with you. Hey uf's just morally better then any other college football program in the country.

you cant argue with facts

two identical situations:  handled completely differently.  evidence speaks for itself.  FSU fans largely dont care though.  Pretty typical of football fans who would sell their soul to win a title.

#FreeWILLGRIER

I thought Grier was better than Harris, so I would much rather see Grier play than Driskel again

If "enough to warrant an investigation" is your evidentiary standard for punishment, there will be a lot of innocent people punished. Personally I feel that it's more important to discover the facts before making up your mind rather than to act quickly. But hey, I can't stop you from crowing how wonderful it is you're punishing a player right when you know he maybe did something awful.

I think it's more important to discover the facts before letting the player continue as if nothing happened.  To each their own.  It's also important to not let months go by before even paying attention to it.... but hey, that's just me.
