IMO, Bradley is in over his head

Quote:You might want to try watching the game. They showed blitz from the right, He checked out of the run to a hot read to the right you can hear him call it. This had happened earlier in the game and he threw a quick pass to the hot read. The int happened because the experienced DB saw it and jumped the short hot read. I tis pretty simple had nothing to do with there were no deep patterns BB killed all the deep routes when he saw the blitz coming, he just needs to read the Safties better when he does that so they dont jump the route. You're entitled to your opinion. There was one deep pass all game. The rest of the game Bortles was very Henne like (in the type of passes he was attempting) IMO, I think it was probably due to the play calls and Fisch/ Bradley overreacting to the lone deep INT. As a matter of fact I remember saying to my buddies watching the game that A pick 6 was coming at any time (prior to it) if they keep up this short [BAD WORD REMOVED] passing. The defense was bound to jump one of those routes, with the passing offense being that predictable. The Jags passing game resembles nothing like Bortles first 5 appearances. IMO, its not that hard to see that its because we are refusing to consistently attack the whole field in the last game like Bortles was doing before. We show less advertisements to registered users. Rookie QB, Rookie WRs, No running game, Bad O-Line = Bad team.
I honestly expected this type of year. This team is way too young to do anything this year or even next year without some veteran help ![]()

Quote:The last time I was allowed to post we had just lost the Eagles game. Well, since then, we've won zero games... Aside from the Redskins game, we've faced some pretty stiff competition. And in the Redskins game we were still being hampered by Chad Henne. And we were also being hampered by having a very young team. I agree that Fisch and Babich could both be parts of the problem. I think that Gus Bradley is a guy who is willing to give too many opportunities at times. I think we should have made some moves at the end of last season. His lack of experience (and the Jags not being an attractive spot to land for coaches) can't be held against him too much. I don't think there's many coaches who would want to come here pre-Bortles. Availability matters, and so does the amount of talent on the team. Jimmy Johnson didn't take over what was essentially an expansion team. If you look at the lack of talent on the team, it explains the lack of wins very well. The team should be showing improvement, but I don't think we can say if any improvement is being made at this point. It's a very young team, with few draft picks on the Defensive side of the ball. Bortles isn't regressing. His stats don't look quite as good, but that's in part due to facing tougher defenses, not having a running game (which keeps the Defense honest), and playcalling, as well as the players we have. Why would a proven winner come here, when we don't give coaches time to bring the talent in, and blame them for the problems? We don't want to become the Oakland Raiders. I think Bradley goes on the hot seat at the start of next season.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

LOLSMH The CB Blitzed leaving an open a reciever wich the safty came down to cover but he read BB eyes and jumped the route BB threw to what he thought was the open reciever.

Blakes play vs Pitt is the result of conservative playcalling, not personnel IMO. The Jags helped make life easier for Pitt's defense by keeping almost every pass attempt into a 10-15 yard box. Pitt was like Thank you very much. Even if you don't complete them, you gotta take the occasional 4-5 shots per game downfield. We show less advertisements to registered users. Blake is regressing into the Chad Henne mold these past 3 games, and in my opinion its happening because the coaches are shortening the field on him. Which is only helping the defense. First deep attempt Sunday. Hurns runs the wrong route, Blake takes a hard hit and it's nearly an INT. Definitely should have done THAT more. ![]() You need to stop discounting the rookie being a rookie and also consider the starting WR lineup of Rookie, Undrafted Rookie, Brown.

I'll also say that Jedd's playcalling probably isn't a result of Bortles interceptions, and more a result of our young WR's. It's not that he doesn't trust Bortles, it's that he doesn't trust the receivers. Who are mostly Rookies, who have run the wrong routes at times. I don't think the playcalling will ultimately turn Bortles Henne-like. He's not going to regress because of hampered playcalling. He doesn't seem like that type of player to me.
I know people hate bringing up Manning, but I'm going to do it anyway: In his first year, Manning had some pretty weak YPA games, including a sub 4 YPA against the Dolphins.

Deacon; out.

"Some guy who keeps getting suspended from the message boards is advising me to fire Gus!" "Oh, well, I guess we'd better replace him then." "Is Harbaugh available?" "Which one?" "I don't care! This guy is advising me to dump Gus, and I can't ignore that coming from a die-hard fan."

FYI - Bortles took the blame for checking out of that play that ended in a pick 6. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Honestly we need a veteran WR to replace Brown. We have Shorts, but he's hardly a Vet. Even having Marcedes Lewis back would probably help some.

There's no way we get Harbaugh... ha, so, you might want to let that one go
