Compensation is conditional mid-rounder Harvin has to be a total locker room cancer, a mid round pick?!
I can't believe it.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Can't say I'm too surprised the Jets made a move for another WR...but for a mid round pick? I feel like something has to be up with Harvin

He must have really been a problem in the locker room. Can't be anything less then a 3rd right?
He didn't do much with Seattle when you think about it, I dunno guess we're just all caught off guard.
This is shocking to say the least. Even with Percy Harvin's past baggage. Being that the Jets are 1-6, they likely are looking towards the future.
While the Seahawks won the Super Bowl with very little contribution from Percy Harvin until the Super Bowl game vs. the Broncos, last season they had Golden Tate as their # 1 WR. W/o Tate and Harvin, they have lost plenty of firepower in their attempt to defend their title. Quote:He must have really been a problem in the locker room. Can't be anything less then a 3rd right? Stats aren't everything, especially with harvin. He stretched the defense when he was split wide and when he was in motion or in the backfield the defense would always focus on him. Percy was the best decoy in the NFL, outside of being nasty when he actually got the ball. He's always a threat to score. Very puzzling news.

You gotta feel that he's a pretty big cancer to warrant trading your best playmaker outside of your QB. Dang.

I feel like something has to be up with Harvin I know he has a big contract and is injured too often, but I personally believe that a healthy Percy Harvin is a fringe top 10 WR with all that he can bring to an offense. To dump him for a conditional mid round pick is just crazy to me.
Wow. And this article just came out about the Seahawks wanting to expand Harcom's role.

Devil's advocate:
I wonder if Caldwell made an attempt to acquire him with such a low price tag.

If Harvin doesn't like his QB, the deal is off... Per Ian...
Feed The Harvin... NH3...

Quote:I know he has a big contract and is injured too often, but I personally believe that a healthy Percy Harvin is a fringe top 10 WR with all that he can bring to an offense. To dump him for a conditional mid round pick is just crazy to me. He's played a total of 10 games for them since giving up 3 picks and a huge contract. I guess they saw enough to know he isn't worth holding onto. They need the cap space anyway to try to keep some of the defense together.

Mike Vick, Chris Johnson, Eric Decker and Percy Harvin. That would have been an amazing offense a couple of years ago.

Seattle's cutting their losses, plain and simple. They gave up too much to acquire him and gave him too large a contract. It was time for them to move on from a guy who obviously isn't healthy enough to be the difference-maker they were hoping for. Jets are desparate for a playmaker so they pulled the trigger.

Likely means that their LBs aren't going anywhere too, which sucks for us. I still think a healthy Harvin is pretty valuable and he has no more guaranteed money in his contract, so they have to be sick of his act.
In related news when does John Idzik and Rex Ryan get the can? When you talk about incompetent front offices league wide the Jets should head the list.
