Poz to IR

Quote:WHat makes people think that they will make Poz restructure?? If they haven't asked Marcedes to do so (and he's MUCH more of a candidate for it over the past several years) then what makes you think they'll ask Poz to??....

I said I think there is a fair chance, it wasn't a guarantee. But anyway, here's my reasoning:

Because he isn't worth what he's paid, Cyprien will be in his 3rd year in the defense and will likely be able to take over the defensive calls, and for what Poz is giving us (decent run stopping, shaky pass defense) I think he could be replaced fairly easily in FA if they feel like they need a veteran there, or Reynolds/Thomas could get us by for much cheaper.

Why wouldn't they ask him?

Dang. You are on fire today. Aeriously. I agree with everything you are saying. Jags fans are so use dto losing, they dont know real talent when they see it.

Quote:because poz is a lot more expendable than marcedes. poz is a two down LB

marcedes is our best TE and could potentially play every snap on offense, whether its designed for blocking or running routes.

marcedes isnt in a position to be cut.

poz is.

that simple. if poz is on the block and they offer him a chance to stay if he restructures then i agree with senorfantastico.

The only way I see Poz cut is if it's a debilitating injury.  Which, would make some happy I suppose.

Poz and Lewis were two of the most impactful players going into the season.  One's out for the remainder of the season, and the other we haven't had for the beginning.  It's not good having to do without either.

You really think 1/3 of the nation's fans is going to vote for any Jaguars? The least popular team in the NFL?

Thank you. To be honest, after that last post, I was just about to throw something crazy out there for a heat check like Westbrook pulling up for a 40 foot 3 pointer while Durant is wide open on the wing.

Got it.
Some of this is correct but it doesn't tell the whole story. He does struggle in coverage but is our most physical linebacker. He is also the QB of the back 7. Personally, I'm interested to see how they perform with a little more speed in the middle but we're going to miss his presence and experience.

Quote:i dont think he NEEDS to be cut. i think next season he will be cut because he wont be the best guy for the position anymore.

Again, the only way I see that happening is if the injury is debilitating.

Yes, we need to continue to draft LBs.  It's a desperate need that we'll certainly address in the draft, just like CB.  Though, I wouldn't expect them to be able to unseat Poz at MLB so easily though day one.

I think the Jaguars will target a younger, cheaper, more athletic option at MLB in this offseason, specifically in the draft. The 2015 off season will be dedicated to acquiring cornerstones on defensive side of the ball, specifically at the linebacker and FS position.

Happens to be the main reason why OKC cant get over the hump (Westbrook). But ive been here for a while and ive seen fans accept some of the most average play from players. From Garrard, to Poz.

Sucks to see anyone injured, especially someone who's meant so much to the team as Poz.

I guess now we'll see how valuable he truly is/was to the Defense.

My money is on us saying "How in the [BAD WORD REMOVED] is that TE so wide open every time??????" a few less times per game.

This nonsense spouted over Poz is the same situation Mathis was in when he was compensating for all the ineptitude around him in the secondary, but catching all the flack himself.  Exactly the same.

Actually the tight end is typically the responsibility of the sam. Poz is usually more focused on run support although he sometimes covers a back or drops into a zone. The second part of that is when he'd usually struggle.
