Bill O Brien's post-game presser keeps it REAL after a loss, compared to Gus Badly's "positive" [BAD ...

O'brien was on the verge of crying like a little [BLEEP]. What a complete embarrassment for himself, his family, the organization and the owner of the Texans.
I am sure his team has already noticed this weakness in him and realizes that he does not have the mental make up to be in the position of head coach. If he cannot control his emotions and resorts to berating reporters next he will be throwing his players under the bus.

Quote:For every Pete Carroll, theres like 7-8 examples of Wade Phillip types that show it doesn't work as more examples pile up. Conversely, I've pointed out many of the most successful NFL coaches of the last 30 years that were all of similar type as Bill O Brien displayed in his presser. They don't accept losing.Great coaches generally are needles in a haystack, whether they throw post game tantrums or not. I don't recall Bill Walsh, Tom Landry, Don Shula or Belichick being commonplace. I don't recall them throwing post game press conference tantrums, either. I get that great coaches change the mindset of the teams and convey the message that losing is not acceptable. I just don't see how you can say blowing a gasket in front of cameras is somehow more effective than blowing a gasket in front of the player away from the cameras. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Bill Walsh, Tom Landry, Chuck Noll and Joe Gibbs had CONTROL, maintained discipline and hardly ever (if EVER) lost their composure. They carried themselves with dignity and class, and inspired the same in their team which contributed to a winning culture. Going bat [BLEEP] crazy because your defense can't hold a lead will not contribute to a long term successful team.

The guy wet his pants at the podium. Freaked on one of the media peeps. Seems unstable.
Reminds me of the OP.
No one is safe.

Quote:Trolling? No. You are applauding O'Brien after his team lost their third straight game. They have given up 24 points in a quarter for the second straight game. They had an absolute epic collapse at the end of the second quarter. Because he acted like a [BAD WORD REMOVED] in his press conference? We show less advertisements to registered users. LOL....Oh I guess Bradley maintained composure acting like he just won the superbowl in his post game speech, after a win that put his team at 1-6 (5-18)!!!!!!???? Yeah, it would have been nice to see Bradley freak out during one of those pressers after yet another loss. Call his team out. Show them that he means business and that losing is not acceptable.

Quote:Proof being? How many doormat head coaches have won superbowls??? Dungy and Carroll thats it. Most of this type won't even reach a superbowl, let alone win one.

Quote:Gruden Or Billick. Huh??? Neither of those head coaches would sit back and accept losing without blowing up at some point. |
