Geno vs Blake

#21

I'm not much a fan of Geno but I give him credit. He's got no one to work with and he still takes shots downfield. Hopefully, Harvin can help

And didn't you start one of these whiny threads after the first INT?

The last five threads you've started, three were about the Jaguars going 0-16 and two were ripping Bortles.

Go Jags.

Did you just wait for the jaguars to start losing so you could do some trolling?

Where were you all off season?

If Blake is still throwing ints at this rate this time next year then sure we can start worrying. He's got one guy to throw to who has any kind of real NFL experience including running backs and tight end's and his O line has 1 guy with experience in it.

A. Robinson - rookie

M. Lee - rookie

A Hurns - rookie

C. Shorts - only receiver with experience

A. Sanders - second year (has only really been punt returning)

C. Harbor - never been a starter

N. Jacobs - rookie

S. Johnson - rookie

D. Robinson - never started before Sunday

T. Gerhart - First year as starter

L. Joeckel - first real year

L. Bowanko - rookie

Z. Beadles - only lineman with experience

A. Pasztor - second year starting, no surprise the o-line has got better since he returned

B. Linder - rookie

The whole unit is new together, they hadn't really practiced as a unit as coming into the season the O line was almost completely different, we had a different QB and most of the WRs spent timed banged up. I doubt any rookie QB would be putting up any sort of great numbers with the kind of inexperience Blake has surrounding him. Look at Bridgewater, he's got a lot more to work with that Blake and he's putting up very similar stats.

Name the season we had an offense with sometimes 8 rookies on the field at once...

What would you prefer? Honestly, tell us all what you think we all should be doing.

The OP posted three threads about the Jaguars going 0-16 this year. So obviously we should only be thinking of the worst. And apparently trust nobody. Nobody, ever.

Difference is bortles moves the ball down field at a much higher rate, geno is a 3 and out kind of guy

How about we compare their current numbers?

Geno of course has had 2.5 more games than Blake.

Gneo: 57.3% completion percentage

1365 yards

7 TD's

7 iNT's

6.1 YPA

139 rushing yards

Blake: 65.5% completion percentage

1163 yards

5 TD's

10 INt's

6.7 YPA

143 rushing yards

Now let's see what Blake will need to surpass Geno's yards and TD's from last year:

209 Yards Per game.  He might not quite get there, but he did have 2.5 fewer games.

.7 TD's per game.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Obviously I think Blake has the better upside but the OP isnt far off.  It's not about how you start out but how you progress and Bortles will need to learn from his mistakes and limit the turnovers.  Bortles has one of the worst situation to start with.  Rookie WR, young OL..well just young all around. no running game.
