To all the fans in the stadium wearing bags over their heads...

#81

May be the TV angles, may be the camera man, may be the show producer

But it looked emptier than recent past yesterday

As a season ticker holder while in undergrad

And a teal bleeding lifelong Jags fan who still makes trips from out of town occasionally

Yes, we saw a lot of empty tealed seats today

My daughter said, Dad why does the 'sports bowl' look like that? (A stadium is a sports bowl apparently, bless her heart)

I said, like what dear?

She said, can't you see Dad? No-one is watching

I don't know, it just LOOKED emptier

From the first half

Why is it bothersome to some when some state their observations?

Go charmingly deplorable Jags, better days ahead.

Oh, to the baggers, absolutely freedom of expression

If not when 0-7, out duelling the Oilers' 30 year old record of first team to lose all games by double digits thus far. When?

It's comical, it's edgy, it shows they care and want to see something better soon

I thought the bags were funny. There's nothing wrong with showing disappointment when your team is 0-7 for the first time in franchise history.

We are the Jacksonville Baguars.

I've read his post multiple times now, where do you get anything about London out of that?

It's hardly empty although there are empty seats in bunches. I have noticed the crowd is showing up later and leaving earlier this year given the performance of the team thus far.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

The traffic situation can't help either. Getting into town has not been an issue since a lot of fans tailgate. Getting out of there is a nightmare, once the game is out of hand why not leave and beat that mess.

How about a 2-toned bag?

While I agree in freedom of expression, and certainly agree the team could stand some improvement, I don't think bags on heads or edgy nor comical.

I remember when the Saints did it first, more than 30 years ago, and it's been repeated by fans of pretty much every team but the Steelers since.

We've had a tough draw the past 3 years, but I'd have hoped we would have done a better job of keeping our dignity.

I am tired of the QB debate, the facts are Blaine Gabbert stinks.

Check out the stats from

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/byposition

or compare using NFL's website head to head

http://www.nfl.com/stats/headtohead?play...layerThree=

or any stats website.

After 3 games this season is paser rating is 36, Chad's is at least 72, and Jake Locker from Titians is 97, Andrew Luck from Colts is 91, and Case Kennum from Texans is 110. Blaine leads all of them with 7 picks (ints) he also has the lowest complention percentage at 48 he actually has been sacked less than luck (15 to Gabberts 12 most likely due to the 4 less games).

Why havent they cut Gabbert already?

Personally I have no problem with people if they want to wear bags. The only problem I have with it is that it continues to portray Jacksonville as a backwoods hick town.

It was funny and original 30 YEARS AGO.

Me and my family was in section 105 and at the loud tailgate. And marched in the stadium thousands strong. So no the stadium was not empty and people stayed longer then at the clots game.

Ever think people just left to beat the traffic. You wouldn't know. But the Matthews is still closed. I will say the refs stink. So many blown calls against the home team. And Jaxson Deville rocks!

Why are they idiots? At least they go to the game and voice their displeasure for a 0-7 team. Would you rather them stay at home?

I could not make it to the game yesterday but I do feel that fans should be able to express their opinion in any legal manner available. If that means bags, so be it. At least the go to the games.

I don't beleive that to be the case (hicktown). Detroit did it through the Matt Millen (GM era) and they are portrayed as a hard rock, R&B motor city.

My opinion. Plus I hear many comments from out of town friends. I think the bags are pretty passe.

Quote:I didn't see any fans with bags over their heads.

I saw one idiot outside the westside gate 1 who had a why not Tebow sign.

I got his attention and told him "Because he sucks, that's why not!"

There were Bolts fans sitting across the aisle from me who saw the stupid Tebow banner being pulled overhead and openly wondered why the Jaguars didn't sign him.

I told her the same thing.

Another Bolt fan chimed in about him selling tickets and keeping the franchise here.

I explained the fans didn't want him here, that the team had polled STH and that the STH indicated they didn't want him here. Then explained to them the Jaguars actually ranked 20th in attendance last year, outdrawing Chicago, etc. Predictably, the reply from them was "I didn't know that."

Sigh.
You should've told them that more people attended Jaguars games last year than they did Chargers games by quite a margin.

Well, I directed them to the espn link that I provided in this thread. I knew the Jaguars ranked 20th and figured we ranked somewhere ahead of them, but off the top of my head, I didn't know where we ranked vis-a-vis the Chargers last year, nor did I know the raw numbers.

Besides, my purpose was to inform, not necessarily to antagonize.

Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Just a few months guys. Then we draft our franchise and all the nonsense goes away. Or at least goes to Tampa.

Your intentions certainly would've been more appropriate than mine. Relocation and attendance talk in general irritates the hell out of me. :yucky:
