To all the fans in the stadium wearing bags over their heads...

Quote:Question:  Do non negative expressions of fanhood make fans look like attention craving idiots?

At Jaguars games, I've seen a woman dressed in a cat suit with cat ears with face painted in Jaguars spots, I've seen a teal and black version of Darth Maul, I've seen guys with "D" and a "fence" props.  There is also a guy who is photographed who wears a foam "cathead" who has his face painted, too.

At Broncos games, Barrel man is a famous fan known for wearing only a barrel with the Broncos colors and logo.

The Skins had their "hogettes" for years (I understand they recently "retired").

If so, should all fans dress alike for games?

I am pretty sure they wear the costumes to get attention. Not my cup of tea but to each his own I suppose.

Quote:I am more concerned about how many Charger fans that were there yesterday.

That was nothing.

If you have seats in the east side upper deck, it is a haven for visiting teams fans.

A team with a larger national following would have been overwhelming.

Oh I know.

Maybe it just seemed like more because once again the Jags didn't give us a chance to really cheer for anything.

I don't know.  It is sad going to these games.

How many home games has it been since they last won one?

I'm not knocking you for your opinion, per se.

I think dressing up various ways, wearing face paint, etc., just adds to the atmosphere of attending an NFL game, even though I do none of those things myself.

My point is that if you are okay with fan individuality manifesting itself in different ways, then negative manifestations of fan angst is to be expected, including signs and paper bags.

Wow.

I never dreamed I'd be stumped by that question, but I am.

I think the last home win was the season ending win against Indy in 2011-you know, the one that meant so much to the team, according to some like Dakota and Predator.

Edit-Self correction-I think we beat Tennessee here last year.  Nevertheless, the point stands.

Does anyone even remember anything about that game?

I think MJD played well, but that's about it for me.

Is it BYOB or are they handing them out at the stadium?

A seven page debate on Baguarites. Its just a point showing displeasure. Shows there is nothing else to discuss.

At least the chances of seeing any Baguarites at the next "home" game are slimmer.

If this team loses the rest of the games, they should hand out bags at the last game. Maybe with a cute curly mustache on it.

Then there will be signs like Falter for Bridewater. Getting Ready for Teddy. Last call for Johnny Football. Tank for Ted.

Its what some fans do. So what.

The only thing more embarrassing than paperbags is getting blown out every game.

With 11 points scored at home this year, I cant really be mad at the bag heads.

It's their decision to express their disappointment with the team in whichever way they choose to.  I cannot blame anyone for that at this point.  Jaguars fans have been subject to some of the most backwards and mismanaged football for a long time now.  I won't be doing any bagging, but I can't say that I don't understand.

Quote:They're idiots because the only purpose the bags serve is to give lazy media types on opportunity to fixate on those individuals as representative of an entire fan base. They're certainly entitled to express their opinion, but it conveys the wrong message and does nothing to influence the team. If they really wanted to send a message, just stay home. That would make more of a statement the team would respond to.

If they stay home then the national media will attack our empty seats.

Personally, I'm glad some fans still have that passion of being upset about the season.

At the next home game here, I plan on wearing bags. There is only so much drinking and cursing you can let out during a game before it becomes old.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Of course they were trying to lose on purpose at that point. The Colts played so well the previous 2 games when they knew that winning wouldn't hurt their chances of the top overall pick, and then when they got to that Jags game it was like night and day - it wasn't because the Jags were playing lights out that game either, it was the Colts flat out laying down. Anyone with a functioning pair of eyes could see it. It was obvious and it really left a sour taste as it just seemed so "fixed".

I'm sure you were very upset to see a win from your home team too. And yes, It did mean very much to every player and coach on the field that night.

I know it doesn't fit your utopic view of how you want the team ran, but then again, you're not remotely involved with the team.

That leaves you with one of two choices: A - Be glad when the team wins. B - be upset when the team wins.

Clearly, by the quoted post above, we know where you stand on this, so there's no need to go round and round again about it. It's spelled out rather clearly.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I wonder if a barf bag would fit over my head?

Maybe the team can grab a few extra ones on the return flight home. I am sure we'll need them after the [BLEEP] whipping we get over there in jolly 'ol England town.

That win against the Colts was priceless.

Colts got Luck and are set for the next 10-15 years with their franchise QB.  Meanwhile, we have Blaine Gabbert.....

Yep, gotta love that meaningless win because it sure has led to a lot of losses.

Quote:It's willful ignorance that's the trademark of Tebow homers. They love rewriting history.

Elway never committed to him as their long term starter, and was willing to gamble on signing Manning when most thought the neck issues he'd been dealing with were potentially career threatening. That should speak volumes when those paid to evaluate talent would rather roll the dice with a QB who could see his career end because of a known issue than to move forward with a fullback pretending to be a QB.

Elway knows a little bit about the position, and he knew Tebow was limited. That worked out pretty well for them.

The Jets traded for him thinking he could push Sanchez for the starting job. As bad as Sanchez was, Tebow couldn't win the starting job, and even when the lousy starter was injured, they still didn't put Tebow in because they recognized what most people with a functional football IQ see. He's not very good. He can't read a defense to save his life. He's not terribly accurate.

Ryan Mallett is hardly a juggernaut, but as a Tebow homer, you've got to overvalue his abilities in order to explain why your messiah got kicked to the curb.

You homers need tough love. You'd think after bouncing around and eventually getting booted out of the league, it would sink in. But, like your messiah, his slobbering worshippers aren't too bright.
What part did I rewrite? I did no such thing, maybe thats why they call Jags losers, people can't read!
