Texans waive Sam Montgomery

Not sure about the other two guys that were waived. But I remember this guy was pretty highly regarded during draft talks in April. Guy's obviously got some character issues, but still young and might do better with a second chance and a change of scenery in Jacksonville. Thoughts?

First thought is "wow", second thought is "pick him up!", third thought is "hire an investigator quick to find out what he did!"

I know that there were several folks who thought that he was going to be a more effective pro than Mingo. I wonder what he did...

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Willie Jefferson could be a potential LEO 6'5 240ish, I think he used to play TE or WR and is relatively new to playing DE.

I liked Montgomery in the draft, but have to find out what they did before we pick either up.

He just might be worth a flyer...anything to get the Jaguars pass rush going. I thought for sure they'd get some pressure after the Chargers lost two guys at LT, but there was none all day.

Jefferson to me is very interesting. Although he had off the field issues too in college.

NOPE MOVE ALONE MONTY IS TERRIBLE IN EVERY WAY

Now Cierre Wood who they also cut...he has legit NFL talent I'd look into him perhaps.

sign them both whats the cost almost nothing since they make almost nothing. if they don't pan out then cut them, use the waiver wire seed to our advantage.

Montgomery is not the kind of guy you want on the team.

Montgomery has the look on paper, but so did R.J Soward. Montgomery is a headcase who couldn't be motivated to play in college, knowing NFL scouts watched his every move. Now that he has the game check, I'm not surprised it worked out like it did.

Pass on this one...unfortunately.

Just illustrating how foolish it would be to sign these players.

That's what you thought you were doing, but what you were really doing is illustrating again how foolish you are.

I was just about to post how Willie Jefferson or Cierre Wood, second and third string players for the Texans, would be the catalysts for a mid-season turnaround. Good catch.

Montgomery was a borderline first round pick leading up to the draft. The only reason he fell to round three was due to these "slacking" charges, but I still think they can at least take a look.

Having said that, more has come out on the incident. It appears the three were found smoking a cigar in the room. Some suspect it might have been pot, but there's nothing to substantiate that rumor.

Jefferson was being talked up alot during the preseason. Would rather look at him than Montgomery.

Yes I am sure Sam freaking Montgomery is going to come here and win us a few games.

You are a piece of work man.
