Conference Rankings

#1

A lot of people are thinking the SEC is having a down year (and I tend to agree) but the numbers dont lie.

Per Kirk Herbstreit, since 06 bowls vs Top 10 non conf opp, the SEC is 20-9.  Pac 12 is 8-17, Big 12 4-11, Big East 2-10, ACC 5-29.

I know people that dont root for teams in the SEC hate the national bias, but its true.  At the end of the season, a  1 loss SEC team is probably better than most conference champions.

I don't disagree at all. The SEC has clearly been the most dominant conference over the last decade.

I still want people to get excited that the ACC seems to be coming up big this year, and the The U may be back! Football is just better when all three Florida schools are good. I know you Gator fans are bummed about this year, but come on now. Y'all have been getting spoiled for a while now. Having a year where you end up near the bottom of the top 25 or *just* out of it is not considered catastrophic. It's okay. It happens to all the schools. Don't freak.

The guy who will remodel my condo said this year the SEC has the most ranked teams than any other conference ever. At the time, 8 SEC teams were ranked.

We already knew a two-loss SEC team will get in over an undefeated team in a weak conference because LSU did it in 2007.

No kidding !!!  That's what I was thinking !!!

Hey, numbers don't lie ...... most people discredit the Houston Texans but the numbers will clearly show that since 2010 they have one of the best regular season records in the league.

"Since 2010" means nothing. The only numbers that matter are those about 2013. And in 2013, numbers go against the Texans.

This year and the past.  Top to bottom, the SEC is still better than every conference.  If you put 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, etc.....I think the SEC would come out with a winning percentage.

What does that have to do with this year?

This is an odd season for certain in the SEC.  Look no further than this past weekend.  I have no doubts that the conference will be back to unquestionable dominance shortly, but that's not the case this year.

Honestly, we will have to wait and see on that one. Until another school can show otherwise, it will still be Alabama and everybody else.

SEC is better until someone else proves otherwise, but they are still having a down year.  Not nearly as good as people thought or the rankings would suggest.
