The Jags have Ruined Bortles

#21

I'm numb.

And if I Bradley talks bout "missed opportunities" anymore, I'm going to drop a load.

Quote:Congrats on being right about this team being complete garbage. I'm glad someone has something to be happy about.

Hope you didn't hurt your hand patting yourself on the back.
Who's happy? Me, I'm bitter about the fans who know beyond any doubt how to fix this team, yet when their ideas are implemented, things don't improve immediately.

The real issue right now is the passing game. Anyone with a brain knows a rookie is going to usually suck out of the gate.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Quote:It's amazing how no one gets any separation on their routes.  Every pass is a near pick because if it isn't a perfect ball it has a chance to get picked. Dalton's receivers have 2-3 yards separation on almost every pass.
Excellent point....the rest of you can blame Bortles all you want, but how do you complete a pass to a turtle that can't separate?

I'd say you are going by that smiley face.

Do you really think Bradley put Bortles out there because the fans were calling for it?  I'd say he did it in hopes of Salvaging the season.  Do you really think Chad Henne would be doing better here?

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

The smiley face is the only reaction I have for the fans that call for action with no clue of the consequences. These fans were Bortles' biggest fans when he was a backup but call him a bust when he struggles. He's a rookie!

I fully support the decision to play Bortles but knew he would look great at times and look horrible at others. Judging by the reaction on this forum only a few others understood that.

Exactly. The fact that rookies and first time starters aren't all pros straight out of the gate is a concept that the mental midgets just cannot grasp.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

To me the reaction seems to suggest that we should have left Henne in.  If that's not the case, then okay.

Personally I have no problem with Bortles performance.  Play calling?  Maybe.  But not Bortles.  Not even his two pick sixes last week.  I hope we don't see them handcuff Bortles in hopes of reigning the interceptions in.

BORTLES has ruined himself...

He continues to not be able to read defenses

He's not 'ruined' cmon FFS

Ehhh.  Bortles has a lot to learn about the offensive playbook and reading defenses.  His pocket awareness and escapability keep me optimistic.  It might take a a while, but I still think he'll be good.  Just not in 2014.

Dalton totally rattled by this D.

The Jaguars ruin quarterbacks. Receivers that can't get open and [BLEEP] Oline.

Bortles is ruining Bortles with his horrendous decision making.

Why is Bortles making more "Rookie" mistakes than Bridgewater and Carr combined? The vast majority of his INT's are just shocking decisions

He sure isnt learning from his mistakes. In fact, it looks as though hes learning to make more of them. Realistically he could of had 5 INT's today.

FIVE.

Knowing not to leave points on the field is common sense at any level. He has played ball for a long time.

How many potential points has he taken off the board the last 4 weeks? Anyone have a number?

I feel like he's just throwing it into an area and hoping a WR pops up and makes a play, it's not great to watch.

I really hope Bortles turns out well, someone was crying because I was complained in the game thread about Bortles but he could have easily had SIX interceptions in that game, Hurns stole 2 away from the Bengals and they dropped 3. That kind of thing is worrying if he's a rookie or not.
