22/33 247 yards 2 td 1 pick

I agree Derek Carr isn't having an all pro game against the Super Bowl champions.

My point was would Watkins and Carr/Bridgewater via a trade up have been a better duo pick than Bortles who hasn't played well and Lee who basically hasn't played.

It's an open question

Yeah, who gets to make that evaluation? Can we have it in writing so we'll all know the standard?

Bortles isnt playing well. Has he improved as he should be? No
Why do you care what those crabs say? They're really butt hurt but dont wanna admit to the truth that their team sucks right now and are making a ton of careless and dumb mistakes. Ignorant fandom does that.

If this was your thinking after the preseason then congrats to your knowledge if not, that's a hindsight thing. Obviously he hasn't played great but given the circumstance of this team, I'll take him right now over the other QB's....especially when they seen less durable. If we knew Lee would be this pedestrian then obviously you'd go Watkins and another Qb. But again.....Hindsight

How about all these quarterbacks who came out in this draft looks like crap. Comparing someone else trash to yours is useless.

Not when almost results in inconpletes and batted passes to double coverage on third down, when the checkdown is wide open in the flat.

I don't think everyone has the same standard for how much a raw rookie is supposed to improve in 6,1/2 games as you do.

He definitely has to get better at reading defenses, reading his receivers, and eliminating stupid throws.  Many of us just don't expect that to happen quickly. I doubt we see much improvement this season. Maybe a little bit of improvement will show up in spurts and we'll need that to feel confident moving forward.  But his positive attributes preclude me from second guessing the pick at this point.

Bortles has had some issues. I am worried about these receivers not getting open enough. I saw a couple plays where arob was completely blanketed and Blake tried to force him the ball. I don't know if it is the routes or not, but something has to change. Blake needs some open guys to throw to.

And once again will Jedd Fisch eliminate thay stupid screen pass where they fake to one side and then throw it back to the other?

NEWSFLASH IT DOESN'T WORK.

This is too logical for this board.

I have little doubt he will improve, but you guys gotta remember why he was supposed to sit this year. The guy practically looked like Tebow coming out of the draft, he couldnt throw a spiral and had terrible footwork. He has worked on both of these things. In the offseason he will continue to work on these things. It is troubling that I'm starting to wonder if he even reads defenses though, because he misses open guys to throw to blanketed players a lot, like the Gerhart pass down the sideline where 10 yards shorter they didn't cover Robinson at all. I think he is losing what they worked to get him to internalize in the first few weeks, this was part of the risk of playing him early, he was very raw coming out. I imagine he will look fairly similar with small improvements until he gets another offseason.

Look at it this way though, we were down 19-3 and almost came back. That kind of comeback wasn't a reality for this team for the past 5-10 YEARS. With Henne in there we could have turned the game off when it was 10-3.

As of right now.... Yes. But hopefully in the future Blake becomes the guy we need.

Teddy Is also working with Norv Turner. Blake has Jedd Fisch.

The TD and INT passes were under thrown. Bortles said he was trying to throw the INT out of the back of the end zone. Makes me wonder if there is a mechanics problem (from tinkering with his motion) or injury.

based on bb5's games, what makes you think that?

His stats mean absolutely nothing until we have an OC that actually lets him play the game and doesn't limit him.

I'm assuming youre stats weren't against the Bengals as a "tough defense" because they've been anything but this year.

Please logically explain to me how the OC is hindering his performance.
