Attendance the elephant in the room

#21

Quote:Sent a couple questions to the Ozone, I guess he didn't want to recognize or talk about the emptiness of the stadium yesterday.  But as I understand it low attendance is Khan's out of the lease with the city.  I was shocked at how empty the stadium was yesterday, especially that's it's still only October.  How will the stadium look in December?  What I am wondering is, does Khan expect Jacksonville to support such terrible football?
Supply and demand, my man.

I think the front office knows that changes are going to have to be made to avoid a real attendance problem again. Jacksonville has dodged the bullet for the past couple seasons, but is also running on borrowed time, all things considered. I'm sure the brass is well aware of that.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Were you there?

Maybe he didn't want to talk about how empty the stadium was because it wasn't?

I was there. It was obviously not a sellout, but it was a decent crowd.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:The Jaguars (and most NFL teams) have announced "tickets distributed" well before Khan bought the team. But nice try.
What are you trying to say?

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Quote:7,000-10,000 who thought it wasn't worth going to with the ticket already paid for.........ouch!

From what I could see your numbers look about right.

I'm curious. Do those camera angles you're all using to determine the crowd size shoot into the Bud Zone or the interiors of either club section?

No.  How many would you estimate spend the game in out of view areas?

I would say a lot. Don't have a number, but people are going now to just have a good time and party.

Just about 3/4 of the seats in the east clubs go empty as people migrate indoors to escape the heat.

The Bud Light zone and the terrace suites were packed the entire game along with the deck where the old sky cafe is.

Must have been a good party if they were still there in the 4th.   Banana  I'd like to know turnstile versus sold ticket numbers.

It definitely was terrible after halftime and in the 4th quarter you could scream and nobody would be close enough to hear you in some parts.

No pain, no gain.

I sit in the west club and there are probably well over 100 pub type tables inside. They are full almost the entire game. The club area inside is bustling. And this has been the case since the stadium opened. Part of it is the heat. Part of it is there are people at the game that don't really care about the game and just socialize. I would say in the west club alone, you easily talking 1000 people. Probably the same on the east side. And the countless people that buy a cheap seat and hang out at the Bud Zone or above the Terrace Suites.

The Bud Zone is for the people that don't care about the game, they just want to be somewhere with lots of hot chics and beer.  That place is always packed.  Not packed like "every seat taken" but shoulder-to-shoulder packed and spilling out the front.  If you emptied out the Bud Zone you could fill....2 sections?

What is the place above it?  Is that the new Fantasy Football place?

Huh

Yeah, I wanted to go check it out earlier this year and it was full with a pretty long line.

Quote:Yeah, I don't blame anyone for not being there or not "supporting the (this) team."  I just wonder what Khan expects?
He was in London watching Fulham play. They had a clip of him enjoying the game on ESPN.
