The Eleventh Doctor, my deepest condolences on the passing of your Mom. I hope and pray the inspiration your Mom provided will help you and your family in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead,
I lost both parents within a year. A part of your heart is gone, as is some of your past. But memories aren't.
When you're having " a moment".... Look up, smile and know someone is looking over you..still. You know if you're upset, it would upset her... So try to put on the brave face...vow to make her proud. It's what she would want, and it will make you stronger. Remember, she is in a better place.. It's the ones that are left behind who suffer with the loss. Now that she can see again, remember... Mom is watching. It may not be a bad way to go on. I'm still a putz, but I try..... For them. Although its cliche, time does heal. Eventually, the depression gives way to smiles.

Maybe it was more difficult for me maybe because I had the misfortune (as I see it) of being an only child ....and single parent (mom raised me alone) so when she passed wayyy to early, it literally crushed me. I won't disagree with your advice above though - its sound. I just hope The Eleventh Doctor is able to have an easier path than I have. I don't want anyone to have to go through that. I probably should have sought "help" shortly after she passed, but I have always been a proud individual and always feel I should be able to handle things myself. I'd just add to the quoted above post that if someone offers you help/ advice/ don't be too proud/ stubborn to listen/ or take it,.... We show less advertisements to registered users.
