Oklahoma Oil Tycoon Ordered to Pay Almost $1 Billion to Ex-Wife in Divorce Settlement

 

An oil tycoon has been ordered to pay close to a whopping $1 billion in a divorce settlement to his ex-wife.

 

According to a court filing made public on Monday, an Oklahoma County judge ordered Continental Resources CEO Harold Hamm to hand a total of $995.5 million to his ex-wife Sue Ann Hamm.

He's worth 20 billion!   So of course, since she now hates him, she wants as much as she can squeeze out of the guy.   

 

If she can persuade him to settle the whole thing for an extra billion (out of his 20 billion), making the whole settlement 2 billion instead of 1 billion, then I say she's doing what anyone else would do.  Because obviously this is no longer about love, it's now about business.   Get me an extra billion dollars just by filing an appeal?   That's a no-brainer.
