Caldwell should be shopping Marcedes to Green Bay right now

No. We should intimidate them.

Not saying we need to imitate anyone. Just illustrating a pretty good equivalent example.

And I'd say the Browns are doing things the right way since their new ownership has taken over. So, not sure about the intended insult at their expense.

They managed to fleece a first rounder in their accumulating draft picks for the future and have amassed a ton of picks already for next draft.

We got that 4th & 5th rounder for Monroe though...

A bit of wishful thinking?

Marcedes is too slow to play for the Packer's offense.

It's interesting how you interpret things.  There was no insult.  I was asking f you think the browns are a model to follow. Apparently you do.

BTW - I don't see any point in trading Shorts and I don't think the browns are wise to ship off an even younger WR with promise.   If they get a good bite on Lewis or MJD -fine.  I just don't think they need to be that desperate for picks.

I wouldn't just give Shorts away, but I'd listen to offers, and would absolutely deal him for a high second or 1st rounder - even if that first rounder was in later years. He's showing signs of being injury prone. Better to trade too early than too late.

Quote:Word is that Packers TE Jermichael Finley might be out the rest of the season.

We have no use for this oaf and he's not part of our future, I'd hope.

I'd take a 5th rounder in return and be quite happy.

Hopefully Caldwell is doing his due diligence.
Not a bad idea with the exception of calling him an oaf ,but then again I believe the entire team minus Cyp, Gratz, Poz, Scobee, Joeckel, Blackmon, Shorts III, Nwaneri, D Rob and Ace should be on the block .

Not sure why Poz &  Uche are on that no-trade list.

Which is why no one would likely give a first or second for him.

You just sound trade-happy.  You know most trades end up with a winner and a loser instead of a win/win happy ending.  That's why there aren't more of them in the NFL.

Depth - good chemistry players. We more than likely will not field 22 pro bowlers and the blue collar chemistry guys are a trademark of every winning team.

Again, you don't know that until / unless you try. I never would have anticipated that Trent Richardson would have netted a 1st rounder with as non productive as he was with Cleveland the first year & a couple games...

God, if Cleveland was as defeatist as some of you, they probably never would have been able to get that deal since they'd be like "oh well, Trent stinks so we'll never be able to make that trade"....or the opposite "you can't deal Trent, once he develops in 500 years, he'll be great, you'll see!!"....lolz....

Its not about being trade happy. Its about looking for good opportunities to net this Jaguars team good value that they can use to their advantage in the rebuild.

Poz is overpaid though. He's basically a 2 down LB at this point.

Uche isn't very good. At all.

Sigh....

And just how do we know Caldwell ISN'T trying to trade away half the team, including Marcedes, to the highest bidder?

Answer:  We don't, and likely never will.

Well other than the fact of his own words saying that he won't be dealing Poz or MoJo (among others?), I don't know....

We'll know by Oct 29 at 4 pm.

There's really only one person who can do the bolded, and we have no way of knowing if he is doing so.

The Monroe deal went down and not a single word was spoken about him being shopped or any teams being interested before hand. Caldwell may very well be on the phone, and all we will know that by October 29th at 4pm is that there will likely be a thread coming, from you insulting Caldwell's intelligence for what you perceive as incompetence if he doesn't make some trades, when you really have no way of knowing what he was trying to get done behind the scenes. Trading players is way easier said than done.

Link?

Also noting that Lewis is not in your statement, MoJo is untradeable due to his contract year, and Poz is just too good.

Also: I am sure there is a price for everyone.

Thats right, its all just positive mental attitude. If only Caldwell would just straighten his tie, puff out his chest, put on his best salesman voice and pick up the phone and start selling.

You are a just guy who watches football on TV, just like you have no idea what Calwell is doing behind the scenes, who he is shopping, who he isnt shopping, what he gets offered and what he doesnt get offered. Slating the GM (as you of course will and have done before) for not making the myriad of stupid trades you suggest is so self absorbed its scarey.

If these trades that make so much sense to you and the programmers at EA sports don't happen, its probably for a very good reason. Namely that you don't know what you're talking about.

Really? Behaving like a consummate jerk again I see.   Not thinking we should trade Shorts and doubting we'd get a 2nd rounder for a banged up player isn't defeatist you flippin moron - it's realistic and my valid opinion.

Don't rope me in with anyone else's thinking and don't call me a defeatist you arrogant idiot.  You should learn to accept that others have different opinions than you and that doesn't warrant judgement or insults.  Grow up.

link to what? that Caldwell said that about not trading Mojo/ Poz? He said it shortly after the Monroe deal. Thats when the quotes were uttered. He said that he gave those players (and possibly others) that he wouldn't be dealing them. I remember reading quotes from the players opining what a relief that was to them that they wouldn't have to worry about such things.

Not sure why the irrational response abobve. Doesn't really seem proportionate per what I was saying but oh well.

Again, all the point was - was that if Cleveland took the same "we can't get this for player X" mindset, the Trent Richardson theft would have never been able to happen.

Also, try not to be hypocritical. If you don't like being insulted - then don't insult others in the same exact post.
