Look, you don't get to be as bad as we are because of a single individual. Remember when our futility was Shack's fault? He was sent packing and we still sucked. Then it was Garrard's fault and he was sent packing. We still sucked. Then it was Del Rio's fault and he was sent packing. We still sucked. Then it was Gene's fault and he was sent packing. We still sucked. Then Mularkey. Same outcome.
We are bad because of many reasons. What should happen is identify players and coaches who are below average and can be replaced with upgrades. Unfortunately upgrading as many weaknesses as we have is tough. Regards....................the Chiefjag We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! What Khan, Bradley and Caldwell are trying to do is expedite the rebuild in this second year by forgoing veteran stop gaps in leiu of playing (developing) our youth. That plan calls for sacrifices (win column) but stands to ultimately speed up the process. Again, everyone in charge knows what it means to start so many rookies (lots of learning, not so much winning). There really is a plan. And a three-year timetable. I highly suspect the coaching staff (including Fisch) will be retained, excluding the special teams coach. Quote:See, we all had hope after the 2008 season. Remember everyone saying we were going to win the Super bowl after that great 2007 season? It didn't happen, and all of us said, it was an off year, we played into the hype, blah blah blah. Then the next year happened. Then we said, well, they just need a couple more players because they wasted their draft picks on Harvey/Groves. Then that didn't happen, and they were both busts, so we blamed it on that. Then finally, Gene came in, and we were patient with him, gave him the benefit of the doubt. I don't think this is comparable really? I believe all teams had to give a list of like 6 players that could be taken by Jax or Carolina. The expansion teams then had to pluck like a minimum of 35 players from other teams squads. I believe they have since changed the rules for expansion because there were complaints from other teams about how good Jax and Carolina got so fast. They may have also been given xtra picks at the ends of the first two rounds of the draft, I can't remember.
We selected a player from the other teams player pool. They had to make 6 players available and every time one of their players were selected that team was permitted to remove 1 player from their pool so no team lost more than 3 total. Then we were give the first two picks of the first two rounds. Carolina traded their first pick to Cincinnati who selected KiJana Carter, then we took Boselli at 2.
Understanding we have a boatload of inexperience on the team will be tough to field a competitive team, but we should see improvement in wins and losses from year 1 to year 2. This is what is most disappointing, no improvement. Regards.......................the Chiefjag We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! When you take into consideration how many rookies or second year players are on this roster who are contributing, what we're seeing isn't really much of a surprise. It's just the process. So, after year 1 we gutted the roster to purge players who weren't part of the process moving forward, then beginning the rebuild process via the draft. Year 2 was a continuation of that build process using the draft to build the core, with a few free agent acquisitions that made sense in light of what they were trying to accomplish. Year 3 will be about adding more depth through the draft, and adding play makers where they can in free agency. They've been very clear almost from the very start with this regime that this was a 3 year process. We're half way through that now. If there isn't significant progress made between now and the end of next season, someone else will be making personnel and coaching decisions for this team. I think both Caldwell and Bradley will ultimately be safe as these investments start to turn the corner. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It happened, and I think the personnel we have in place, excluding Caldwell, are the reason we are in the situation we are in. ![]()
I challenge you to show anywhere that Gus and/or Dave declared it was a 3 year process. That's a message board hoax.

This rebuild is completely different. I'm disappointed too. I have expected better results but I think if Caldwell had the advantages that Coughlin had, we would have a better team then we are fielding now.
Countless times in the "media"? Seriously, let's hear it from the GM or coach or it's nothing more than "media" or message board fodder.

The jury is still out on Joekel and Cyp but overall the talent is starting to get there. It's the coaches I have issue with. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Regardless of the time table if you watch you can see that they are building for the future. That's the only reason you start 5 rookies on offense. Progress this year wasn't supposed to be based around wins. It was based around is the team playing better. Are we sustaining drives and getting first downs? Are we converting third downs? Are we in positions to win going into the fourth quarter?
So far I've seen improvement in those categories. Next year for me was the year to expect wins. Next year is when I look at the schedule and try to predict the record. Now I'm not saying the will get to the playoffs or even have a 10 win season but next year is when wins should happen. And if they do then I know there has been tangible improvement in that category. Then the year after I look for even more improvement. Baby steps people. Quote:Countless times in the "media"? I don't know if I can find a link straight from the horse's mouth or not, but I wouldn't really expect either David or Gus to come out and say that the 2014 win count doesn't matter. But there is a time table.
You're right, it's only a media timetable. Some journalist writing an article. Nothing more.
