So is it safe to say the reason Colts fans don't hate the Jaguars is they usually won? If the only reason Jaguars fans hate the Colts is all the times they beat us and won the division, hatred is unilateral. It is not like the 49ers/Seahawks rivalriy which goes both ways and has nothing to do with the series record since 2002. I think Colts fans lack a true motive to pour hate on the Jaguars. All we did to them was put Josh Scobee on the field for a game-winning 50+ yard field goal attempt several times - most recently because Jim Caldwell called a stupid timeout during the drive - and run 375 yards during their Super Bowl season.


What have the Colts done to the Jaguars? One thing: beat them many times, including the years we were playoff contenders. One time it put them in the driver's seat to win the division, but they did not clinch it so we still had a chance after losing at Indianapolis. Most of the time it had little or no effect on the playoff race because of when we played them and their record. So I think Jaguars fans hate them way too much and should learn a lesson about respect for other teams from members of the Colts message board. Don't worry; I am not saying you should root for the Colts. I am just saying we should not hate them like they're evil.

You should take a permanent vacation to one of your other teams forums and not return.

I respect Luck but i dont have a soft spot but i dont care that they are good now just hope when the Jags are ready to take that next step into a playoff contender the Colts suck then.

I need to clarify myself here. In no way am I saying we should like another AFCS team. Why would I want to do that? All I am saying is because Colts fans don't hate the Jaguars at all it's illogical for Jaguars fans to hate the Colts with a passion because the hatred is not bilateral. We think of them as rivals, but do they think of us as rivals? This is clearly not a football version of the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, which has always been bilateral. And in case you're wondering, my user name is JaguarsWoman on the Colts board too.

 

Perhaps the issue here is Jaguars fans can't tell the difference between losing because the Colts are great and losing because the we suck. The last time they beat us it was obviously more because of how bad we are than how good they are. That has not always been the case, of course, but it will be Sunday if we don't play our best game of the year. I understand hating a team that robbed us like the Titans did in January 2000. But I can't remember the Colts robbing us like that so hating them more than any other team is not logical.

 

Would you ilike to see more threads that express a lot of respect for us on the Colts board? I probably can find some more people with good feelings toward us later in the week.
