Should we draft 2 QBs in May?

Quote:Look at Caldwells picks in the 4th, 5th, and even 6th round last year. He has proven that he can find talent in the mid and even late rounds, and I would rather he use those picks on players that would contribute more than a backup QB.

The backup QB position is meaningless, if the main guy goes down your season is over.

I wouldn't consider Denard Robinson and Ace Sanders as ringing endorsements of Caldwell's drafting abilities.....yet.

Quote:We got a pick for Mike Thomas and two picks for Eugene Monroe, right? So we should have 10 picks.

Let's say we take a QB in the first

Let's also.assume that being the worst team the jags will not get the big fas as we will not pay through the nose next year

we will therefore build primarily through the draft and offer UDFAs and journeyman a chance

Well to my mind we need a center left guard right guard (though I could handle Uche remaining at right guard and another tackle left or right that can provide back up and competition for joeckel and patzor

Let's call that 3 picks low round 3rd 2 4ths

We then need 2 dts to rotate in with marks on running downs I think that will be two of our 5ths though I would prefer us to use our second here and get a bit of high quality on the d line and as I think we will struggle to find a quality Leo here

any way let's say Leo with the second

That leaves us with a 5th 6th and 7th

Well running back first off Olb and 5 tech could all be used here however on further consideration though I do think we have more pressing needs if we do see a QB head and shoulders the bap I don't have a problem taking him with a 5th 6th or 7th that being said Matt Barkley was a 4th many were shouting for us to take and he stunk it up the other night, conversely Brady was a 6th so who knows , if it is a 5th and they address the line issues I won't complain

Quote:No, we have more important spots to fill over backup QB.
It's more in case Bridgewater or whoever we take in the 1st doesn't work out.. but yeah.

Quote:You're missing the point.. there's always a chance that our 1st round QB doesn't work out.. do we really want to take such a big chance with just 1 QB?

The problem with that approach is, when you spend a high draft pick on a QB, almost always that guy gets a couple of years to develop and prove that he is or is not a franchise QB.  So the rookie QB you take in a later round will NEVER see the field.

What do the Redskins really get from Kirk Cousins, anyway?  It's the same as if Chad Henne was the backup.  Kirk Cousins languishes  on the bench in DC.  He can't really develop without playing, and he's not playing.

How about we draft another punter... Angers leg has got to be getting close to falling off.

QB, DE, DE, DE, QB, DE, DE, DE... That is the only way the Jags can finally find a true DE.
