Bradley's record as head coach is approaching historically bad

Yeah, I'm definitely not gonna defend our coaches!! I checked our record and scores from 2012 to jog my memory... That year was miserable!! But there were a lot of close games... At this point I'd say its a tie. If Bradley ends up with the same record as malarkey, I'd have to say the Bradley era was worse. But Gus has 5 more games to turn it around... We'll see. But I'm not gonna hold my breath

So they're both bad coaches lol

Quote:I just have to say, Caldwell's recipe isn't working. I don't think it's the players drafted, I just think we don't have the right coach. Something isn't meshing well with what they are trying to do. It's like they aren't on the same page, or something.

Agreed. The coaching staff is just a mess. I also still have confidence in Caldwell.

In essence!!! But Bradley could run off 5 straight wins and change that reality...

Quote:But this year we should have beat the phin, Cincy, Pitts, and tacks... And we were in the game against Philly... And I thought we gave Cincy a run for their money...

All of those games should have been wins. The fact that the players didn't respond correctly or muffed it away so routinely is on coaching. I'm just worried that this clown of a HC is gonna get 1-2 more years.

Insert Bill Cowher on this team and their record is (maybe) 2 wins greater. Bradley should NOT be fired..at least not until the gates open next season and see what his record is after 4 games. He is NOT a lousy coach. The team just aint that good but if you look only at the scoreboard..........you might miss some of the bright spots. For those of you who remember might take solace in this fact. Years back, the Dallas Cowboys were 1-15 and two years later WON the Super Bowl. The foundation for this team is coming together.....slowly for sure while the rest of the NFL runs at warp speed and is very unforgiving of teams that are "growing". That's just the nature of the beast.

Barry Switzer aka bozo the clown won a SB with Jimmy's players. That team was built and coached brilliantly. Not only that the coordinators were very good at there jobs and Jimmy was a super successful HC at Miami. Don't come in here and try to pretend like were seeing the mold of greatness before our eyes because thats clearly not the case.

The sooner we all acknowledge as Jag fans that we've been sold a bag of crap and start voicing our displeasure with the coaching staff the faster we can start the process of Hiring qualified coaches. It's time that the Jags join the rest of the NFL and move ahead with the times. You know like scoring TD's and stuff like that.

People believe Gus and Dave are safe for another year since history of NFL owners suggests so, but I'm not so sure about Shad Khan being that patient.

He fired Gene Smith after one year. He fired Mike Mularkey after one season. He recently fired his Fulham coach after going 4-20 this season and he's now on his 4th coach of the Fulham FC in less than 2 years.

HIs track history is not patience.

I would like to know your definition of "super successful".

I wouldn't doubt there a post-it note under his mouse pad with 3 or 4 names on it.

That's because it was year 4 of the rebuild that was supposed to be the year everything came into focus.

1. Two wins in 16 games is significant.

2. Is the team as bad as the 2012 team? How about the 2011 team? At what positions did the Jags have better play in those years?

3. As far as using Dallas as an example, I'll buy it when Caldwell makes a Herschel Walker type trade.

If there was ever an opportunity for odds to actually be negative, as in -5%, this would be it.

I would bet that Vegas would give you some pretty good odds if you were willing to bet on the Jags winning the last 5 games of the season, with Gus as HC.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Gus should have been given a veteran OC, maybe even one with previous NFL head coaching experience. A Norv Turner or Kubiak type of candidate. I think it would have gone a long way. Gus is able to get the guys fired up to play, I have never seen a lack of effort, but this coaching staff seems to lack a certain degree of professionalism in its game planning and other areas. The lack of overall experience shows. Individually, I think there are a lot of quality coaches on this team, but not enough experience and leadership as an overall unit.

I don't know the answer, it may be too late to bring in an experienced OC at this point in Gus's tenure, but who knows.

Jimmy Johnson lost 9 games at his career in miami, 5 of those in his 1st year

what the bleep do you exactly call that if it's not "super successful?"

Here are the current NFL Head Coaches # of losses in first 2 seasons.  The numbers could obviously go up with 4 games remaining but this is eye opening.  If Bradley is going to stick around then he has got to be part of a miracle and essentially some history making improvement.  The stats are not perfect as there are a couple of 1st or 2nd year head coaches on this list without 2 complete seasons but you get the idea.
