1010xl reporting Hugh Freeze has been offered the HC job at Florida

Quote:I wouldn't be against Lane Kiffin either Gator Nation.

I think Lane would be a good fit for Florida now.

He's the polar opposite of Muschamp.

Apparently everyone has forgotten that Lane Kiffen (as a HC at U Tenn) called out Urban Meyer in 2009 stating he was going to turn Urban into the NCAA for cheating.

There is absolutely NO WAY UF would hire him.

Quote:I'd love for next HC to be able to hire Pelini as DC

I think Pelini could easily get another head coaching job. He didn't do a bad job at Nebraska. It is just a hard to school to recruit at and the alumni and fanbase has insanely unrealistic expectations.

Please, please, please hire Kiffin. He can recruit, but he's an awful head coach.

He won a lot of games. I think something like the only coaches to win more games since he was at Nebraska was saban and one other guy.... Something along those lines.

He just didn't finish well.

It's kind of funny to me that they canned him. They won't get anyone better than Pelini. Nebraska hasn't been the job it used to be in quite some time now.

They still think they are an elite job. But they have not been for 20 years. Osborne used to be able to come to Florida and recruit players in the 80's and 90's. Those days are long gone.

The thing about Nebraska is they are the only show in town. Every high school kid in the state wants to go to Lincoln. There is no other program for them to be recruited by and their fan base is as strong as any in the country.

They've been to 43 bowls in the last 45 years, yes that's still an elite job.

No, it's not. Elite jobs are programs that are competing for championships. Nebraska hasn't competed for a championship in 13 years.

Nebraska HS football is just Meh. That's why Osborne hit the road to get his studs.

Also using bowls isn't a good indicator anymore and hasn't been for a good time now.

unrelated by i saw that some people also think that it is a possibility that richt leaves georgia for the nebraska job and i thought that was kind of crazy, but i could see the argument for it, his job security at georgia cant be very high right now.
