If I were Muschamp, I'd probably go for the head coaching job at Colorado State.  He can hang out with his $6m payout from Florida, take a job in which nobody is watching you, and roll out a few doobies during the game since it's legal out there.

People will be watching him if he gets another head coach job - just not as many in the Big 12 as if he stays in the SEC.

It'd be a good hire at DC for whoever gets him.  He may have his faults at HC but the guy knows defense.

JW --- If you are going to quote my post, at least relate your response to what I stated.   CSU is not in the Big 12.  CSU is in the Mountain Conference and gets very little exposure.

I don't even bother responding anymore

When did they change conferences? Back when Nebraska, TAMU, Colorado, and Missouri were in the Big 12, CSU was in it too.

totally incorrect. on all accounts. CSU was never in the pac 12 in the history of ever.

I said Big 12, not Pacific 12.

So the Big 12 North used to be Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa State, Nebraska, and Kansas State? Got it.

I'm sure he does.  Colorado State is still nowhere to be found.

Colorado used to be in the Big 12, not Colorado State. CSU was never in the Big 6, Big 8, or Big 12.

Sounds like Muschamp and Auburn are close to a deal

Does anyone agree with me that Muschamp's job as a DC @ Auburn may actually be more difficult than being the HC in the weak SEC East?  Think about it, he has to gameplan against Saban, Freeze, Mullen, etc. to compete for the SEC West title.

No. I think it will help auburn a little but in defensive recruiting, but overall muschamp will do more with the talent. Auburn isn't far off from those programs and he doesn't have to do much to be considered a big upgrade from what they had before. It's a low pressure job and his bread and butter.

No chance...while his workload is still going to be plenty, the pressure is released.  Even if the defense struggles, the head coach ultimately bears the brunt.

I will say this...I feel like Malzahn will give him free reign on the defense for the most part.  I feel like he's one of those head coaches that is all about the offense and the defense comes secondary (not to an extreme, but you know what I mean)

South Carolina would do well to offer him a job too...
