I love looking at beer stiens, but I hate drinking out of them.  Maybe I'm too lazy, but I can't stand having to open the lid and then hold down the lid flip with my thumb...  Just too much effort involved for me.

 

What's the purpose of the lid anyways?  Just aesthetics?
