lol, one photo. Ive been going to games since the first season. The fan support the last three years has been as strong as any since the first three years. If you don't know or realize this, you are probably not in town or are choosing to be ignorant.

If Khan wanted to move this team by creating such a horrible environment that would cause fans to abandon ship, he would have first kept an obviously inept GM in place for the first year he took ownership then follow that up with hiring total noobs of a head coach and new GM.

Cute. Maybe you could actually explain why you don't think it is true instead of re-posting a photo from the start of the second half of last week's game.

It was reported in 2011 it would cost roughly $100 million to move the Jaguars before 2030 unless the ownership could show one year of losses and it was below the league revenue average two consecutive years. Think about this. The single year of losses would not be hard for Khan to show (if he had losses), but to show it was below league revenue average would require the other owners to open their books. That ain't happening.

Now, if it would cost the team $100 million over the next 20 years (from 2011) then that's roughly $5 million per year. Then, moving the team 5 years later (2016) would cost the team $75 million. Khan paid $760 million for the team but it's been estimated any team in L.A. would immediately be worth $1.4 billion (the Buffalo Bills just sold for $1.1 billion). That would be a $640 million increase in value for a $75 million dollar expense. Who wouldn't do that deal?

I'm not suggesting Khan is moving the team. What I'm indicating is the lease deal with the city would not be a deterrent if he wanted to pay off the lease and move.

How much money did Khan put in towards the newest stadium renovations? If he was going to move the team, he wouldn't just throw away that money...Sure he can afford to throw tons of money away every day, but just because he can, doesn't mean he would...I seriously doubt Khan would invest in the stadium and the city itself, and try to create more international business for the COJ with London based businesses if he was planning on leaving...Supposedly there is also another round of renovations coming to the stadium with Khan contributing even more money to help fund...Seems pretty silly to be investing more money into a stadium that he doesn't plan on using...You don't become wealthy by throwing money away, and you certainly don't stay wealthy doing that either...not to mention Khan has steadfastly said we aren't moving to LA...The national media doesn't even talk about the Jags moving to LA anymore but some fans just can't accept that...

Quote:LOL!

If the jags tried to claim a loss the IRS would be all over their books because that would mean they weren't paying taxes because there is no income tax when you show a loss.
I dont think you understand the difference between a business' books and their tax return. The tax return usually allows more of a loss due to various credits and bonus depreciation.

Ya, if something fishy is on the return, then the irs will audit the business and look at their books. But ultimately the irs does not regulate bookkeeping.

What the jags have on their books is regulated by gaap, not the irs.

Point is, if the khan goes court to discuss his books, the irs is not involved. It would probably involve a financials audit by a firm.

Talking with a few buddies at work this week, who are deeply involved with the corporate community here is Jax they feel Khan is starting to alienate some of the business community in regards to how he has handled he whole Edgewood Bakery situation.

I'm on Khans side, and feel the lawsuit/takeover is necessary, but he is getting some bad pub.

Bad publicity isn't on him. That's the local media trying to stir something up. They can get away with it because it sells to portray this as a David vs. Goliath situation without bothering to look at the facts.

As I said in my post, I am not suggesting Khan is moving the team.

I am pointing out to people that the stadium lease would not be the deterrent IF he wanted to move.

Two different issues.

What seems to missed in all the talk about what the Jaguars may be worth once they move to L.A. - the team is only worth $x.x billion if the team is sold. It's not worth more than it is now until then. Yes, the local revenues would no doubt be greater, but worth enough to incur costs regarding moving and breaking the lease? I don't think so.

So, do you think Khan bought an NFL team so he could turn around and sell it to make a profit? Sure doesn't seem like it to me. Which is why all this talk is just that - message board talk signifying nothing.

The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.

Agreed. Khan is already laying the groundwork for generational ownership.

I seriously, seriously doubt this. No offense.

Quote:An abnormal amount of opposing fans every game coupled with the lack of fan turnout the past few weeks. That's a pretty good indicator of how people are feeling. That isn't trolling. That's common damn sense.

Do you go to the games or are basing this on what you perceive on tv?

You have to be overly naive to think that it's not in the realm of possibility to happen considering the jump in value if the Jags moved to LA.

As the Chief said, I'm not suggesting but certainly not discounting the possibility of relocation. I just won't sit here and take on the hand wringing that's delivered by the usual suspects who've been wrong on several occasions, while they enjoy their role of puppeteer.

What team wouldn't theoretically increase in value by moving to LA? Why doesn't the new Buffalo owner just pack up and move? Why didn't the Vikings or Falcons? What about the Bucs?

Those are all relative points, personally I feel a little better now than when Khan initially took over. However, the lemmings always come in droves to argue a point that they're 91 percent of the time wrong on. I refuse to be an innocent bystander and allow such hand wringing to ensue, hence the role of playing devil's advocate.

Garrard,JDR, Gene Smith, Gabbert, Mularkey, and the current regime all seem to have something in common and it involves the degradation of this franchise, sorry my posting doesn't reflect the veiling of this activity.

So basically you have nothing? Cool.

When Khan bought the team he mentioned corporate box ticket sales, and how it was lagging behind the major market teams. Has that improved any? 60k in the stands is just one part of the game day revenue stream, those boxes are there to generate income obviously. If the boxes are sitting 50% vacant, then that could be a problem.
