Survivor Advice

#1

Good morning guys, my name is Steve a NY Giant fan (albeit a miserable one this year) lol

I come to you guys today seeking advice.  Me and a few buddies entered a Survivor League this year and by a few miracles have made it this far!

The pot is.....$1,800,000 ! And there are 16 people left.  Unfortunately 2 people remaining refuse to chop the pot until we get to 5 or less competitors.  It sucks, but we have to live with it for now

In week 11 we had to start picking 2 teams per week, and this week begins picking THREE teams (same goes for week 17)

At this point picking winners is pretty difficult, 3 is just crazy.  But by taking a few risks early on in the season we have left ourselves in OK position.  Since everyone has already used 20 of 32 teams, choices are limited lol.

Pick #1 is going to be Packers @ Tampa Bay, which we feel good about especially with GB coming off a loss

Pick #2 is going to be the Eagles @ Washington.  We feel ok about this, but road division games are always tricky.

Pick #3 is where we are at a stand still.  At the bottom of the post I will post who we have remaining along with the remaining schedule

We are trying to save the Cowboys, Falcons, and probably the Texans for week 17, Although the Texans are questionable now with their QB situation up in the air.

We have basically narrowed it down to SOMEONE in the Jags/Texans game or Carolina vs Browns

Any input you guys have would be incredibly helpful, please let me know what you think. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Browns......@ Panthers ........ @ Ravens

Bucs......VS Packers..............VS Saints

Cardinals....@ Seahawks ....... VS 49ers

Cowboys ....VS Colts......@ Redskins

Eagles...... @ Redskins......@ Giants

Falcons ..... @ Saints ......VS Panthers

Jaguars ...... VS Titans .....@ Texans

Packers.....@ Bucs......VS Lions

Panthers......VS Browns......@ Falcons

Raiders......VS Bills ...... VS Broncos

Redskins.....VS Eagles......VS Cowboys

Texans.....VS Ravens......VS Jaguars

Titans......@ Jaguars.......VS Colts

I'd go with Carolina. Their backup is much better than Manziel.

As a veteran of a sucky team where the most important considerations are who will get fired/cut at the end of the season and who's

available in the draft, and what our position is relative to division rivals, I can say this -

Every (sucky) year there is ONE MEANINGLESS game which can have a big impact on the future of the franchise with regard to draft position. This is that game. We ALWAYS win these games. So, yah, take Jax this week.

Just one caveat: in picking us to win a game you are undeniably going to get teal all over your fingers.. you have no idea of the ramifications that can result from such direct contact. Even the suggestion that you 'might' consider choosing Jax has likely already doomed whatever chance you may have had. Seek allah, say five hail mary's, rub the rabbit's foot with garlic and face your rear-end toward Jax, and you yet may escape your folly.

With How up and down both of those teams have been I wouldn't fancy either of them.

Jags is probably the best of a bad bunch as we always win unimportant end of year games against divisional rivals.

My advice to you is...

If you made it this far on your own, I wouldn't take a random strangers opinion on a message board to heart. Obviously, you know what you are doing, so just go with your gut.

Guys .... he can't choose Carolina --- the teams on the left are available to select.  The opponent in week 16 is in the middle and week 17 on the right.  That said, I'd have to say that I'd go with the Jags this week.  Our defense has toughened up since our loss to the Titans and the heat for our coaches to get a victory has been turned up.

Our weaknesses are running the ball and pass blocking so we should see a little relief after facing the Texans and Ravens in back to back weeks.  Last time we faced the Titans, we also had new LBs and Delanie Walker caught a few passes on blown coverages.  The LBs seem to know what they are doing now.

Prediction ---- Jags 16 - Titans 9

Thanks Hurricane, very insightful.  But just so you know, the Panthers are listed on the left.  I do still have them available.  Not sure if that changes anything for you.

That's why I would go with the Panthers (Carolina) at home this week against the Browns. Next week is a little less than a gimme, playing the Falcons in Atlanta. Plus, I'd save the Texans for the meaningful game against us (Jaguars) to close out the season.

So... Carolina, then Texas...

I would take the Panthers. The Browns are likely to start a major tailspin.

Edit: I would avoid the Texans week 17. Consider Cowboys/ Cards/ Falcons

Panthers. Cam should be back, but even if he's not, Manziel is hot garbage, and the Panthers run the ball well, which is not where the strength of Cleveland's defense is.
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

Week 17 should be crazy with a weak Jags team against a Texans team without their starting QB...
