I am still wondering why the NFL put this game on national TV anyway

Every team is obligated to have one Thursday night game IIRC.  So they decided to give the Titans and Jags theirs in the same week.  Killing two birds with one stone.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I think the obligation is one prime time game.

Thursday night just happens to be the least prestigious of the three prime time games (SNF, MNF, TNF) thus it's the night the Jaguars get their lone prime time appearance each season.

If I'm not mistaken they wanted to give most if not all the teams a primetime game, the Thursdays games are pretty low marquee when compared to Monday and Sunday night games are a perfect place to hide these two teams a week before Christmas. .

CBS probably had some sway in the schedule, I highly doubt they would've allowed this game those weeks when they were airing the TNF games.

The Titans already had a Monday Night game though. Unless for some reason the NFL thought Tennessee could be a playoff contender.

That would definitely give me a good reason to tune out football until April.

There are around 50 prime time games per season. 100 teams participate in those games.

The Broncos and Pats only play once per season, someone has to be one of those two teams opponents in the other 49 or so games in primetime.

IIRC haven't all the Thursday night games been divisional games? I think that was part of it, making them divisional games would make them more competitive.

Don't put him on IR! Part of his experience is learning how to play with various injuries. As long as his injury is not potentially catastrophic then let him go.

Quote:Blake has a sprained foot and is doubtful for the Titans game.

Time to put Blake on IR and go with Henne.

Put the tank in play!    Let's get that number one pick and deal it for multiple picks!
Why, we are tanking just fine with him playing.

Everyone seems to want the number 1 pick to deal for more picks like it's some forgone conclusion.  Truth is, it rarely ever happens.  What is the obsession with you all and the number 1 pick?  I'd see we are just as likely, maybe even more so, to trade out of # 2,3,4,5...

Go Jags, kick some Titan [BLEEP]!
