Quote:I know who you are...you're the Geno Smith fanboy who shifted to a Bridgewater fanboy when we didn't draft Geno.

What was your old handle? I cannot remember, but its definitely you.

Anybody remember the poster I'm talking about? Dude just slobbered over Geno for a year and then did the same for Bridgewater. Who was that? Pretty sure his name is rocdee now.

even if mariota was leaps and bounds above bortles which I don't think he is there are so many reasons why this won't work

First to get Mariota we would need to sit above Tampa, which with Tampa playing green Bays and the saints won't happen

Second we would need to shift bortles which could happen but it would likely be at a loss particularly as we would have to initiate the trade

Third however high mariotas ceiling he will definitely be worse than bortles right now... Bortles has a year in the system is more developed as a pocket passer and even has better size than mariota... This could hinder the development of our other rookies as Mariota catches up with bortles

fourth however good mariotas arm may appear to be he is helped alot by the high octane spread offenses he runs... Take him out of that and he will struggle initially plus the odds of him developing aren't good from previous examples

Better to get bortles some help, his mental game is improving and he barely looked like getting picked yesterday. He will still make boneheaded plays every now and then but even jughead throws picks

He has learnt when to throw and when to check it down his next step is learning that sometimes it is better to just get the ball out over taking a sack

jerrys receivers typically come to the fore in year 2 so if we can do that solidify the O line get a tight end and get bortles footwork straightened out we might have ourselves an offense

Solid, solid point.

Drafting him now is surely a violation of some sort.
