Yea ai blame me so busy with job hunting. Harder then I thought it be out here. Still no lick. After going through entire employment agencies in jax phone book. And in craigs list. the whole go to interview and love my work experience and make a great fit and def call you later in day to start Monday and never got call back thing is new to me.

OP, just let your son be himself. Trying too hard is far worse than just being yourself - even if you don't fit in with the popular kids. Changing clothes won't fix anything, and middle school just plain sucks in general. I know this sounds cliche, but it worked for me.

I'm not a parent, but I have been a teenager. I was fortunate to live in an era where run of the mill Levis, desert boots, and flannel shirts were the style. Things went horribly wrong when my mother shopped for me. Bless her heart, she tried so hard to make me stylish but, unfortunately, her idea of what the current fashions were came from watching Soul Train. One time she bought me an outfit that consisted of white hip huggers with blue stripes and cuffed bell bottoms, a silk shirt with a navy blue paisly pattern and pair of blue and white patent leather saddle oxford platform shoes.

 

I didn't wear that outfit until a year later, when I dressed up as a disco zombie on Halloween.

 

It could have been worse. One Christmas my grandmother gave me a pair of rainbow striped hot pants. I was 12. I never wore them either. To this day I wonder if she was using me to bait a neighborhood pedophile or something.

Hey...that show had some awesome style!! Way back in the day they used to have an Asian/mixed lady on there with really long black hair...I loved her clothes!!

Hey I have a question for the locals out here. And since we just moved here and my 13 year old boy just started middle school last week. Could use some help so is picked on less. So serious replies from local parents only please.

I am curious what brands of clothes are popular with teenage boys. Everything from shoes to pants to shirts and so on.

So know what to buy my boy to wear to school and not get picked on. Like what is popular and what is not in style and stay away from buying. Any help be greatly appreciated.

Khaki shorts with a Quiksilver/surf logo t shirt or khaki shorts with a Abercrombie/prep style shirt. Can't go wrong with either of those.

 

This.   My son got into the chino shorts and surf shirts when he hit 9th grade.   IF Aqua East does not suit your budget, hit Stein Mart & Marshalls ... if you look around, you can find some real deals there.
