Randal Cobb a possible FA target?

Quote:Randall Cobb has a skill set that is not strictly tied to the WR position. In a sense he would be like Shoelace an act as another offensive weapon. The Jags have shown they like to mix things up and thus Cobb could be an attractive option for the Jags Offense. Replacing Shorts with Cobb is fine by me.

Bingo! And Lee and Robinson will get plenty of looks as well. Thus not stunting their growth as Jags32250 tried to argue.

Interestingly, Mike DiRocco - ESPN Jags reporter is hinting that the Jags will replace Cecil Shorts with a veteran Free Agent WR. DiRocco said not to think Randall Cobb but rather a veteran WR at the end of his career; someone like Tory Holt was back in 2009.

Could DiRocco be hinting at the signing of Reggie Wayne of the Colts?

The idea makes sense. Not Wayne though. He's done.

Would it be crazy to think Michael Crabtree of the 49ers?

Actually, i never tried to argue that, ever.  Just make [BLEEP] up to try to prove a point?

I could see this.  I just don't want to throw a ton of money at the WR position.  Spend heavy on the lines, skill guys are easy to draft.

We could have this, and on the cheap:

Robinson

Lee

Hurns

Blackmon

Wayne

Wowzers!

Quote:You sound like we are not allowed to sign both Cobb and McCourty in the same offseason. There is no reason we can't.

Give me Cobb, Bulaga, and Murray and I will be a happy Jaguars fan.

It's not realistic.

Of course we're allowed to.  It's not going to happen.

When was the last time you saw Randall Cobb play running back? Cobb is just a wide receiver with the ability to return punts, so he actually would be replacing Ace Sanders. We can cut Sanders if we sign Cobb.

This whole thread is hypothetical. I don't think anybody expects Green Bay to let them go.

Do you know a better running back right now not named Adrian Peterson or Ray Rice?

Cobb is very versatile.

And versitility is always a good thing.

Did anyone else see him catch 11 passes for 131 yards yesterday? Yes, I know the Packers were in Tampa, but those numbers were similar to Jordy Nelson's.

I'm gonna be nice and not reply to this saying I think you're and troll and ask why in the hell else on gods green earth would you pick the two backs that are suspended as your examples. And I'm only doing this because I had a good day and I'm in a good mood.

My point was of all active running backs, DeMarco Murray is hands down the best this season. Do you not want Murray because he is a running back or think someone else is better?

I think we are saying we don't like Murray because he's aging and is NEVER going to have another season like the one he is having now. This IS his career year and it's only down hill from this offseason onward for him

OK I did not realize how old he is.

With the cap, I'd certainly like to see them give a hard run at Cobb like they did Mack last year.  Make as big an offer as you reasonably can if he's available.  Nothing to lose.
