Agreed. If we get a nice set of picks I'm all for that in the first round.

I'd guess a 3rd round pick unless there's another team fighting with them for it. Maybe a 3rd and 5th at the most.

I like it. Apparently Stanley is rising on the board. Him and Flowers are being raised. I want ab absolute monster if they draft one. None of this small baloney.

terrible, trade back just to draft another OT in the top 10, we need to sign a vet RT, enough youth on the OL and there is no elite OT in this draft

The best OL guys we had this year were 3rd round pick and 6th round pick, you dont have to draft them in the 1st round

Is Stanley even the best OT in the draft? What about Scherff? I am a little hesitant on Dave Caldwell and his scout's ability to identify OLine talent.

If they pick one, they BETTER PICK THE RIGHT ONE!!!!! Stanley looks like he could be soft like Joeckel and Scherff is a nasty run blocker, but not sure his pass protection is as good.

I agree with a lot of others saying rather have a vet, but I would like to see us trade back and Im fine with it being the falcons(rather be the browns)  but I hope its an extra 2 :-p

All this talk of taking an ORT in Rd 1 is just crazy. Most teams highly value OLT because they must go up against the opponents best DE, but the ORT typically has a TE next to him to help him out and for the most part the ORT is where the RB runs, because most teams have right handed QBs. Most teams will select a starting ORT no higher than Rd 3 and it is not unusual to see a starting ORT taken in between Rds 4 and 6.

The team has already invested in their OLT and for the most part 2014 was his rookie season. Give Luke Joeckel a few years to get his feet under himself before you throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Bottomline, the Jags will not draft an ORT in Rd 1. Maybe Rd 2, if a Rd 1 OT falls, but most likely if they Jags do draft an ORT, it will be no sooner than Rd 4 and with the depth in this draft class, the Jags should be able to draft a starting ORT at the top of Rd 4.

I kinda understand where you are coming from with it seemingly trending that Joeckel was a miss.

But in fairness to Caldwell and co., he did hit on Linder and Bowanko.

Today's bowl games should provide some insight regarding the tackles.

Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley, Stanford's Andrus Peat, and LSU's La'el Collins are all playing in the bowl games today.  I plan to watch/record all of them.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley only came to the surface after he faced Leonard Williams in the ND-USC game. Stanley held up well against a Williams that may not have been on his A-Game.

In my estimation, Stanley is not even a Top 15 player and both Erick Flowers of Miami and T.J. Clemmings of Pittsburgh deserve to be taken before Ronnie Stanley. BTW, both Stanley and Peat are Jrs who have yet to declare. Peat is another player that would benefit from staying another year at Stanford. Again in my estimation, Peat is a mid Rd 1 selection who could fall to the 20s. Collins is probably best suited for ORT or ORG. His game is power and not so much as an OLT pass protector. Because Collins is considered an ORT, he could possibly fall out of Rd 1, because most NFL teams do not spend a Rd 1 pick on an ORT.

i think walter football undid his own theory with his description

the best edge rusher in the draft.

Clemons is 33 and wasn't that effective this year. He was ok but marks was the dominant one. Branch Clemons Davis Smith and Gregory is quite a room and means gregory can be eased in slowly and learn from clemons

Atlanta would have to overpay massively to get me to give up Gregory. I'm talking bills style first next year and i'd want a third this year and change to go anywhere near it

Between Gregory and Shane Ray, give me Shane Ray everyday. Talent is one thing and Heart is another. Ray has that WILL to WIN like J.J. Watt had coming out of Wisconsin. Ray came out of nowhere when he got his chance and he is just beginning his ascension.

If Leonard Williams is not the choice at Pick 3, then Shane Ray should be.

I think Gregory falls to either the Raiders, Jets or Redskins, maybe Atlanta, but I doubt it.

Gregory does remind me of JPP hen he came out of South Florida. The Giants took him around Pick 9 if I recall correctly.

I love Stanley in a trade down but only if Williams is gone at 3... Stanley is the best LT in this draft and will dominate at the next level

I am telling you right now, that the best OLT in this draft class will end up being either Erick Flowers of Miami or T.J. Clemmings of Pittsburgh. Both players will fall off the board somewhere between Picks 8 and 18.

Stanley should be taken in the 20's not the Top 10.

I am not even sure that Stanley will declare.

I agree with this.  If we are losing that many spots, a 2nd should be in the mix.
