Jedd Fisch Fired!
|
Quote:I certainly can't argue the offense was productive under Fisch. My whole point in keeping him on was continuity for Bortles, Lee, et al.What he said... I wouldn't argue for a second that fisch was particularly good, but my thinking was pretty much as you said about having continuity for Bortles. My concern here is that with a new OC our offense is going to have to learn a new system... shades of baine gabbert!
I y'ams who I y'ams and thats all I y'ams...

I've purposly steered away from this thread for various reasons.
1st~I didn't think it would happen. 2nd~As I watched from the stands I wanted it to happen. 3rd~They the offense mut learn another offense. 4th~We'll repeat the First Year of the offense scenario (experienced but the new offense will take time to learn). 5th~Gus smartly realized how he's dependant upon the OC and. 6th~HOT DAMN! GUS PULLED THE TRIGGER! LUV YA GUS... NH3...

People feel "bad for bortles to learn a new system?"
Why? The current system sucked. The quicker that system is out the better. ![]() Quote:What he said... I agree as I disagree as well. Sure, having to learn a new system is an setback but look at it this way. If Fisch isn't the answer at the position, why not jettison him now rather thay delaying the obvious handicapping the team, (offense) in the mean time... I say Keep the It Moving... NH3...

Quote:People feel "bad for bortles to learn a new system?" Learning new playcalls involves complex mathematical equations that cant possibly be comprehended in 6 months time. Quote:People need to get out of here with the Marty Mornhinweg talk. Agree. Another west coast dink and dunker Quote:People need to get out of here with the Marty Mornhinweg talk. He's been a pretty good coordinator in some pretty good systems. I would not let him be a head coach anywhere Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Recently, I think his coaching leaves much to be desired. Reid was the main reason for Philadelphia's offensive success and Marty's time in New York was downright offensive, granted he didn't have a ton to work with. I don't think his offenses have done anything particularly noteworthy and by now he's a known commodity. I can't believe Trestman's name gets thrown out there. He is the king of the horizontal offense. No more of that and no retreads. How about a young assistant. Pete Prisco threw out Edgar Bennett who McCarthy says is ready to be an OC. I'll throw out Henry Ellard who has been a receivers coach under some dynamic offenses for over a decade now. I want a coach whose philosophy is to go down the field.

I think their philosophy in Green Bay is hike ball and Rodgers does the rest Quote:I know, but my whole point is that the continuity thing is extremely overrated. My whole family are Bear's fans. When I asked them about Trestman they say away from the guy. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. The guy will lead you nowhere. I don't pay much attention to the Bear's these days but my general perception is that the Bear's really struggled offensively. Maybe he's one of those guys who would do better as an coordinator than a head coach (ala Jack Del Rio), I dunno. I'm just saying.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I'd keep him as the WRs coach simply because he's so good at that. Becoming an offensive coordinator would mean that he's going to be focusing much more on game planning and less on the young wide receivers. Anyways he's been an offensive coordinator in Arizona and in his three seasons his offenses finished 20th, 29th, and 32nd.

But potential can't read defenses and make accurate throws |
