Twitter activity suggests Jameis has made a decision......

Quote:On the flip side, it could make is stock fall (e.g. Barkley).  If they see him act a fool or not improve next season he will fall even further.  This year, I would HIGHLY doubt he falls past STL and could go top 2.

I was gonna say.  His play regressed some this year and we were able to see more holes.  Sometimes coming back can only do more harm.

To reply to other topics, the university and the athletic department arent the same entity.  While the athletic department, and specifically football team, would be glad to have him back, I think the university is ready for him to leave.  Too much of a headache and an embarrassment to the school.  I've been saying since the beginning of the season that the school is just hanging on for dear life until this moment now when they can wash their hands clean.  If he comes back, thats another year for the university to have to hope he doesnt do anything else stupid.  And another year of covering his mistakes and making excuses for him.

Maybe the baseball factors into it? If I'm a legit star and have a chance at getting paid at either sport, I'm choosing baseball. Longer career, less punishment, comparable money.

Of course...it is always about the money.

Mr. FSU fan that I know says he has inside scoop that Jameis wants to be the next Bo Jackson/Deion Sanders to play both sports.

That is why he is staying at FSU.  He wants to become a more hyped baseball prospect.  While he is there, may as well continue his college football career to boost his NFL status..

I don't think anyone has a shot at Bo. Bo was a freak.

Quote:Jameis is transferring to LA Tech to compete with Driskel. Braxton Miller & Golston are also transferring to LA Tech.

Braxton Miller has not decided yet if he wants to stay at Ohio State, transfer, or move on to the NFL. Until he does, I don't want to see his name connected to any of those options.

Jim Brown was a bigger freak than Bo from what I've read.

He may have been, but you probably have more fingers on your hand then players you can compare to Bo. Plus he played two sports at a very high level which has only been done by a select few. But yes, Jim Brown was also a freak.

Quote:Stupidest thing he could do. He's got the opportunity to be the 1st QB off the board in a draft where the top 2 picking teams need a QB. So stupid.

Many people are saying the Titans will not draft a quarterback at #2 because they decided to move forward with Zach Mettenberger. Also, when a player is drafted has absolutely nothing to do with his salary or place on the team's depth chart. There is nothing to gain by being the first overall pick - if the Buccaneers even want him instead of Marcus Mariota. So why should he care about being the first quarterback off the board?

Draft picks are paid more if they are picked higher....

Yes he can. What he said is correct. Salaries are still slotted. #1 pick gets more then #5.

As the OP, I'm gonna circle back and say that I now believe the Twitter buzz to be garbage and JW will probably turn pro.  For two reasons.......his Dad told ESPN that they're going to wait until after the championship game to make an announcement (no reason to do that if you're staying), and second..........ugh, as an FSU fan this really galls me.........the brainfarts in our athletic department released a tweet today congratulating three of our players for pursuing their NFL dreams......before the players had announced their intentions.  The tweet was later deleted.  Anyway, the three players were PJ Williams (announced to be gone), Mario Edwards, and Jameis.

These comments indicate Jameis does not want to prepare for the draft:

Quote:He and the Seminoles lost 59-20 to Oregon in last week's Rose Bowl to snap a 29-game winning streak, and he told reporters afterward that he wasn't thinking about the draft. "I'm not focused on that at all," he said. "I'm looking forward to next season and playing baseball. I'm just trying to get better every day."

Try number 2

Note the decrease in salary correlates to lower draft position.

So his legal issues are preventing him from declaring?
