Jameis Winston declaring

#61

Quote:You obviously haven't watched much of Winston. Holding onto the ball has never been an issue for him. He is a much better NFL ready prospect than Mariotta. He has played in a pro style offense, can make every NFL throw, is a leader on the field, reads defenses well, is an excellent pocket passer with the innate ability to feel the rush and climb the pocket to create time for a receiver to get open, ability to throw the ball in tight windows, and has enough mobility to be a threat on the ground if pressed to run. He does have a baseball throwing motion as a negative, but nothing that can't be corrected. If not for off the field issues we would be saying best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. He will be special at the pro level and I hope he doesn't go to someone in our division.

Put the pom poms down for a second and explain why if his throwing motion is so easily fixed, why hasn't it been addressed already?

This is very Tebow cult like fandom from back in the day.  Everything is perfect except his throwing motion, while any logical person could look at UF's offense that last year and tell you that offense was not good.  Not good at all.

You're kidding, right? We've been told over and over again that FSU fans would NEVER get like that!! :Woot:

I don't think you'll see the amount of fans that will do it, but it will happen.

It won't be as big because Winston is the Anti-Tebow...

It won't be as big because we aren't gator fans.  I fail to see thousands of Winston threads and how the Jags must sign him or they aren't renewing their tickets...  Shocking!

The partisanship around here gets tiresome. Funny how the anti-Winston throwing motion people seem to be the same people who profess no worries about Bortles' footwork issues. No problem, they'll be fixed this off-season. How come they haven't been fixed already?

I think I'll listen to those who are actually paid to evaluate QBs. So far, most seem to be pretty favorable regarding Winston's athletic prospects.

I know this isn't the point you're getting at, but to be perfectly fair, Bortles issues looked to be temporarily fixed in preseason.  They redshirted the guy to ensure that they'd stick but of course he regressed by getting thrown out there when he wasn't ready and being sacked like crazy.

Yeah, like you doing a post that doesn't mention FSU. Obsessed much?

Can't even post about Winston's pro prospects without wading through pro-FSU, anti-FSU, Tim Tebow (for god's sake)!

Oops - sorry I interrupted. Time for another FSU zinger. What you got?

Oh - and you forgot the emoticon.

I'd love just to see ONE post from you not telling someone how or what they should be thinking or feeling....talk about a novel idea. I think 90% of the people on the board would die from shock if that ever happened.

It's okay though...those 90% are guaranteed safe and sound because there is no way in hell that you could ever stop yourself from doing it. Death, taxes and you telling everyone how ridiculous they are for having a different opinion than you...some thing's are just inevitable. <----because they bug you so much! Big Grin

Quote:That throwing motion is what got everyone up in arms about Tebow. That throwing motion is what got Leftwich killed in the NFL. It's not an easy thing to fix.
Apples to oranges. Winston is accurate and didn't rely on the bubble screen and a "jump" pass. That guy could not read defenses and had horrible foot work. There was a laundry list of issues for him at the pro level.

It also isn't going to happen because he wasn't absolutely adored by thousands on thousands of people who weren't Gator fans, weren't fans of football either. There were fans from other fan bases who absolutely loved Tebow. Tebow was a good guy, good athlete, with a great message.

Winston is the exact opposite of that. He has the same number, maybe more, that do not like him compared to those who loved Tebow.

The biggest issue for both of them was that throwing motion.  Tebow worked on that for years and when it came to crunch time, he reverted back to his old motion.

Jameis may be able to do it, but its not going to be as easy as you are trying to make it seem.

Thanks for coming through. You clearly have failed to read many of my posts, although the ones you do read you seem to feel required to respond. Perhaps you stay only the light side of everything.

Oh, and since you're so good at giving advice (thanks Mom) how about you posting something that is more than a cute one-liner with an emoticon. Other than an anti-FSU slant, of course.

Think you can do that? Do you have an opinion on anything, or are you so concerned with being well liked you're afraid of being anything but cutsie?

I mean since you're so concerned with my posts. Which you seem to respond to every time I post one. Do you feel required to do so? If you do I'll be sure to offer my suggestions. You seem to care so much I thought I ought to reciprocate.

You sound like the most conceited person on this board.  Just an observation.   I hope all is well.

What does that have to do with the gator fans? All 8 of them who were tebow fanatics? Isn't that the number you came up with? Actually I think you said there was only 5 on this board during the 4 years this board was filled with tebow threads.

Quote:Whichever team selects Winston will be picking another 1st round QB within 4-5 years. I expect him to take a RGIII-like path. Great his first year but his character issues will surface eventually and derail his career and team.

With that said, I hope im wrong and this kid turns his life/attitude around. Until then, Hes just another thug.
Lol thug. He's just a moron right now hopefully for him he'll grow out of it.
