They only sucked in the Super Bowl last year. With Tim Tebow, they beat the Steelers at home. So to say they suck in the playoffs is an exaggeration.1 and done = sucked in the playoffs.

They essentially got nothing from Peyton Manning.
Three playoff births, two 2nd round knockouts, embarrassing Superbowl performance, salary cap shredded Mission not accomplished.
Quote:Vic Lombardi @VicLombardi 3m The Broncos are rebuilding and you don't do that with a 39 yr old QB. The writing is on the wall, or the barn door.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:They essentially got nothing from Peyton Manning. Well they did get to the Super Bowl with Manning, they just ran into a buzz saw and couldn't do anything about it.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:Gase for our OC coordinator? Is Gase really the best OC out there (provided he doesn't get a HC gig)? I mean, Peyton made Mike McCoy what he is. I think anybody could mold an offense that has 5 legitimate playmakers starting for you (Manning, Welker, D. Thomas, J. Thomas, Sanders). Seems like a risk to me. Vic used to say "players, not plays."
I can't believe this. Someone wrote Peyton Manning's future could depend on Adam Gase, so he was named as the only candidate to replace John Fox. So I never would have guessed John Elway wanted to fire him too.

Vic used to say "players, not plays." There is no reason to think Peyton made Mike McCoy who he is. McCoy has been good with Philip Rivers too.
The 2013-14 Broncos remind me a lot of the situation that the Jags faced in the early 00's with the salary cap problems and everything.

Quote:There is no reason to think Peyton made Mike McCoy who he is. McCoy has been good with Philip Rivers too. Rivers is considered an elite level QB. So is Manning. And, SD didn't make the playoffs this season. It's pretty much expected that with a top 8 QB, you'll be in the playoffs every year. I'm not busting on the man, but Peyton Manning makes most any OC look elite. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Gase for our OC coordinator?I dont think he's that good, Manning ran things, I wanna see him with a none hall of fame QB, like Mike McCoy did good change their whole offense with Tebow and then Manning, and has done a nice job in SD

Quote:The 2013-14 Broncos remind me a lot of the situation that the Jags faced in the early 00's with the salary cap problems and everything. That's what happens when you go "all-in" for one final run at the SB. You spend frivolously and end up up against the cap. Its not sustainable for long term success and I'm glad we are doing it the right way thru the draft. The Seahawks have done it the same and could be poised for a dynasty run.

Wow. Now this one was a shocker.
1. Big credit to John Elway for having the presence of mind that Fox/Manning had reached their limit and the implosion would've begun next season. They saved 1-2 years of heartbreak to learn that. Now they can rebuild immediately and expedite the process. Im sure they will keep manning until they/new HC find "their guy" and manning will be replaced immediately. (This all assuming "parting ways" means fired. If not, Big credit for Fox knowing manning is finally done) 2. John Fox did a pretty decent job. Gase as well. I wouldn't put them on any pedestal but I doubt they will be unemployed very long. And no for Gase in Jax. 3. I think its time we start really appreciating seeing Peyton manning. He is a legend and we are all very fortunate to have seen him play. His time is coming to a close.
Can't wait to see whats next.

Quote:I would expect to read the F word if that was what happened. This is what Elway said to Fox http://youtu.be/gqQQ9_p02o0
Quote:Rivers is not even close to Manning. I didn't say he was, did I? I said Rivers is considered in most circles a top 8 QB in this league. Manning is clearly one of the best quarterbacks to play the game. Regardless of what you think, most pundits believe that Rivers is a top 8 QB. |
