Joe Paterno's wins could be restored
|
As they should. Paterno turned that guy into the school. Did he do things perfectly, no....but I don't think he is a bad person.

What is the point? Paterno is dead.
It made sense to lift the postseason ban and restore some scholarships because you were punishing coaches and players that had nothing to do with the scandal.
Quote:What is the point? Paterno is dead. Because it's his legacy? It's important to his family that he be cleared.
Quote:Because it's his legacy? It's important to his family that he be cleared. I doubt that the NCAA restoring some wins is going to "clear" him. I am sure that his son Jay and the old Penn State good ol' boy network is pushing this. If you have read anything that Jay has written or spoken about his father, he is just in denial or totally delusional.

I've read a decent amount on this story and think in his mind he did all that he knew to do. He went to the administration and said what he was told by an assistant coach about another assistant coach. They were the ones that dragged their feet. He wasn't perfect in this, but to have all that he did for that school and the money he gave to the community should mean something. It will also give him the most wins by a coach in history. He's a legend in college football. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Because it's his legacy? It's important to his family that he be cleared. Cleared of what? He knew he had a child molester on his staff and did nothing about it. That's going to be his legacy now. With that said, having wins vacated is the dumbest thing the NCAA does. Can't be sure......buuuuut......this looks like another way to bait an argument with FSU fans on here regarding Bowden. Just from reading the page after page debates that never end from every other post.
Also, who cares. His "legacy will be restored" is hogwash. It is what it is. He still won those games and just because "they took them away", which is so dumb, makes no difference today.

I really don't care who has it now...just that Paterno deserves it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
What's more important? restoring Paterno's wins so his "legacy" could be intact, or focus on the multiple kids (now adults) who have to live with the mental and physical scars of the sexual abuse that happened to them by some of the PS staff for the rest of their life.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Wait I thought you were just preaching and giving the gospel about how unethical FSU and the fans are, but yet you are now the ringleader in supporting Paterno's wins being restored? Just say the hell with the victims of sexual assault that took place on Paterno's watch while he knowingly took a blind eye to it. Its sick how much you hate FSU to the point now where you want a coach's wins restored while he knew there was pedophilia, rape, etc going on. To say shame on you is an understatement.

Ringleader? Preaching and giving the gospel about how unethical FSU is? You live in a dream world. Fyi, the school is also fighting to take the $60 million dollar fine that was supposed to go to the NCAA and give it to child protection. It's clearly stated in the article. I would say thats a worth cause, dont you? I will say this for I'm not sure how many times....I'm glad Jameis is leaving FSU. In my opinion, the stuff that he did should have been disciplined in a different manner. Is there something wrong with having an opinion? As much as I'm an FSU "hater" you are the extreme opposite. You can't see the forest through the trees my friend.
Paterno covered up so many things at PSU. If the fact that he was aware of his coach (and then former coach) molesting boys doesn't bother you then that's fine.
Personally, I don't like when kids get molested and I'd like to think that if I was aware of such a situation, I'd report it to the police REGARDLESS OF WHO THE CULPRIT IS. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Ringleader? You act like the 60 million the university is "fighting" for to help the victims of sexual assult is supposed to repair the lives of those effected by this scandal. I never said you shouldn't have an opinion, stop crying. And I never called you a FSU hater, but hypocrite is floating in the wind right about now.

Quote:.... and a sympathizer to a molester's accomplice. He was an accomplice now? Did he not tell administration? He didn't see it, he was told by an assistant (who did not go to the cops) |
