I was in Cocoa Beach briefly during my Florida trip. It seemed to me the place consisted of a military base, tons of motels and hotels and few houses for the people working at either of those.

Man. Not a good week to be a good friend of mine. One guy that I bowl with hydroplaned on I95, spun around a few times, hit a couple of other cars, and smashed into a guardrail.


Totaled his baby (25 year old Lexus coupe). Fortunately he's OK other than being a little sore.


Then my golfing buddy got laid off yesterday. And NYC, it was the friend that played that Friday.


Guess I shouldn't complain about too much.

Cooking is about figuring out the good and bad. Plenty of times I try something new and it ends up a pizza night lol

 

Two kinds of cooking, one that is simply following another chef's receipe (farily easy especially with good directions), and experimental cooking (Incredibly hard unless you are talented & lucky).

 

I can follow a receipe (i prefer Gordon Ramsay's cookbooks) but I am not very good at trying my own thing...

 

also baking / (pastries) is a bit of a nightmare.

 

Out of receipes some of my favorites are - Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington, Rack of Lamb, and califlower puree under seared scallops....

 

also fun to search restraunt favorite items for mock receipes like olive gardens soupa

I made soup for dinner today and it was god awful. I didn't know I could make something so utterly devoid of taste.

 

Try something simple like Green Split pea soup.
