I am not so sure that Shane Ray projects well at the Leo DE position as he might the Otto LB position.

 

Clearly he had his way with SEC OLTs but let's face it how many of these OLTs are really NFL OLTs?

 

He reminds me of Von Miller and should probably be used as Von Miller is used by the Broncos.

 

There are others who feel that Shane Ray is another Terrell Suggs, but again that puts him as a 3-4 OLB which in the Jags system is the Otto LB.

I was on the Ray > Gregory boat for a little bit, but I am back off that. The only real plus trait I see for Ray is his first step. After that first step is he is a wholly average athlete who doesn't impress me a lot in any way. I would rather go with Fowler and probably even Dupree at this point.

I basically fall into this boat. I somehow doubt that Shane Ray will be the best pass rusher on the board at three.

Eh, I can't really see the Von Miller comparison. Miller actually has/had a second gear and a better repertoire of pass-rush moves. Ray seems more like a situational rusher at the  next level, IMO.
