Would you do it?

Granted, this is speculative to the Nth degree, but if Mariota somehow falls to three, would you entertain a trade down with Philadelphia?

I would only consider moving down if the Eagles somehow managed a first round pick higher than their 20th pick, and they offered a 2 this year and a 1 next year.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I'd do it in a heartbeat if they wanted to pay market value for our pick.  I think they would probably pay a bit more than their 2nd this year and a first next year though.

Yea only if they move up in the top ten and then try to trade with us I would do it, but if they are at 20 no thanks

That's kind of where I am, though if they threw in Lane Johnson I'd consider it.

I can't say I agree.  There are going to be some quality prospects still available at 20.  With the amount of picks we get from this, we can really build up our team for the future.

I would not trade down 17 spots without Philadelphia's 2015 second round pick and 2016 first round pick

Not gonna lie: I'd do it for their first this year (wherever it may be), this year's 2nd, and a first next year. Still quite a coup of high draft picks.

Their first this year is #20.

That would be only two extra draft picks, so I would try to get more before accepting the offer if I was David Caldwell.

I don't think I would.

While I do want the team to eventually get to the point where they have two First Round picks, I feel like there is too much talent at the top of this draft to let one of them pass you buy just so you can stock up on "potential". Leonard Williams, Shane Ray, even Randy Gregory are too promising in my eyes to drop down this year.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

That's the thing about trading down.

You can trade yourself out of a star caliber player that could turn your team around.

Exactly. The situation sure does seem - at this point anyway - that Jacksonville has an opportunity to add a real difference maker to their roster. I'll take that over "potential" any day.

Or you can find another guy who can turn the team around later in the first round, But I would not take a chance on that if my favorite player is valued as a top five pick.

I ran a mock draft with just this scenario.

I had the Eagles giving the Jags the Picks in Rds 1, 2 and 3 as well as a 2016 Rd 1 pick and a 2016 Rd 3 pick.

Let me tell you having those extra picks in Rds 2 and 3 were nice.

At Pick 20, I had the Jags taking Maxx Williams - TE - Minnesota, but it is possible to fill the ORT spot with that pick also.

Or you could land a star-caliber player at 20 and have extra picks to boot, including a future first, allowing for the flexibility that Caldwell covets.

What flexibility are you talking about?

With that said, I see where some of you are coming from when saying don't trade down.
