Deflate Gate - the report is in

Quote:Screwdrvr, I answered yours, now answer mine. It's simple yes or no.

You tell me how this statement is wrong then....If the Patriots are in full possession of their footballs then it is their responsibility, and theirs alone as to what happens to them. There are no excuses.
They should be responsible to a point once they are in their possession on the field. But there is more to it then that. What if they were not checked correctly, what if they were inflated to the minimum and lost pressure in the cold? What if someone purposely let the air out for an advantage? I just want to know which one is the ACTUAL reason. Again I dont care if they they get punished or not, I dont root for them and stand to gain nothing either way.

To a point ? That's not how responsibility works.

The refs checked 12 balls before they handed to them. All were game ready as far as air goes.

They didn't lose pressure as the game went. This too has been proven based on Indy's footballs and science. In the time frame given I t was impossible for the balls to lose what they did due to the weather.

If someone let air out on purpose falls all on the shoulders of the Patriots and their responsibility. Once in their possession anything that occurs is on them.

Quote:To a point, maybe. But 7 years if admitted cheating could also be affecting the way people react now.

possibly true. i suppose if manziel was the culprit people would be going insane, but if peyton were the culprit it would go away pretty quickly.

so i guess it all depends on the situation.

i guess my personal opinion is this shouldnt be a big deal no matter who does it. i understand rules are rules but it either needs to be altered or the way the balls are monitored needs to change.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

And those game balls that were checked out to be ok is exactly where I want to know what, if any, funny business went on. What happens after the balls are checked? Ref brings them to the sidelines and thats it? Does the ball-boy go pick them up in the backroom where they are checked and have ample opportunity to alter them?

Lol every team has someone using PEDs so all teams "cheat" technically

Like Browner said it didn't matter if they played with a beach ball they still would have won

Yep, if its important enough for them to be checked before the game, they should be kept in refs possession until game time. Anyone that would try and alter them would simply do so after they are checked. Unless the refs bring them on the field themselves?

Per league procedures the balls are checked and then given to team for warm ups. It's theirs. Period.

Do you know how long it would take to deflate 11 balls to the desired psi? Minutes.

But where are they given the balls? In a backroom where the balls are initially checked(easy to manipulate)? Refs bring them to the sidelines where there are cameras everywhere that would show anyone letting air out of 11 footballs?

Who cares?!  They are in a bag....so a ball boy takes a needle and sticks it into each ball to deflate them a little.  Is that really going to cause tons of attention for everyone in the stadium and cameras to turn on someone?

This isn't the grassy knoll and it wasn't a conspiracy....there are footballs all over the place on game day.  It's not that crazy to think something can be messed with.

Yeah, who would care about something as trivial as that.

Way to totally avoid the rest of the post.  You would ridicule anyone who did something similar.

Typical troll response.  Avoid the obvious because it goes against your point.  Keep saying the same inane thing over and over.  Rinse, wash, repeat.

I have to say, I never thought this much time and effort would be spent over some balls in New England.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Pretty cool video of the refs checking the balls before the games and either adding or removing air.

"The balls would be in the officials’ possession until just minutes before the start of the game, at which point they would hand to ball boys on each side of the field. For balls to be tampered with, it would most likely have to take place on the field during the game."

Seems like it would be pretty simple to find the culprit then.

Obviously somebody on the Patriots, therefore making the entire team culpable.
