GoDaddy.com pulls its Super Bowl commercial amid complaints
|
Quote:The problem with selling puppies online is the people who do it only breed dogs for that purpose and don't take care of them or practice good breeding habits such as making sure there are no bad genes being passed on. Good dog breeders only sell puppies to people who personally meet them and agree to spay or neuter. In this commercial, that does not happen. So every single person that sells a puppy online fits this criteria? Even you have got to know this is 100% incorrect. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. I'm a dog lover, had a few dogs in my family during my childhood and have a 10-year old mutt I adopted as a puppy shortly after I left home through an online ad. I just checked and the website is still going: www.mollysmilitia.org
I avoided all the websites that involved the background checks and personal interviews and what-not that many of the complainers about this commercial are calling for. Not because I didn't think I could pass them. I was a college graduate eagle scout that had helped take care of family dogs growing up. I just felt it's none of their damn business. Love the twist on the commercial and you can't tell me the puppy's journey wasn't worth it when it gets to go home with Danica. Now THAT is something with which I would take issue. Cats? Meh, not so much.

FedEx. ![]() Quote:Although the commercial itself does not feature a puppy mill, some people could draw the conclusion from it that buying a dog from one is OK. The ones that had to major wrecks on the highway within a week? Packages all over the highway? Also looked like a few doggie parts as well. FedUp.

You guys gotta chill though. Nobody's trying to vilify anyone. JWs concerns are real. We basically created dogs, and they are our responsibility. Nature doesn't control them nor their population, we do. We just gotta be smart about it, online or whatever it may be. Quote:Didn't you know?? The buying and selling of dogs is the devil!! Agreed... At first it was an heart breaking story but it became an truly heart breaking story... NH3...

My issue is with people who sell puppies online. Big difference.
the ad's a bit tasteless in the way it's been scripted but if your a big enough tard to let your dog fall out the back of your truck you should sell your dog for it's own good.
it's definitely not animal cruelty
Quote:Right. I would never call anyone a bad person for getting a dog online. My issue is with people who sell puppies online. Big difference. What's the difference? Isn't the person buying them online supporting the person that sells them? Aren't they just feeding into the problem? If you have a problem with it, you should have a problem with both. Quote:The ad literally literally ends with them selling a puppy on GoDaddy. So GoDaddy is trying to turn their focus to selling puppies/animals online? Does no one think with common sense anymore?
