Hurns is 6'1" and not very fast nor quick.

He also has inconsistent hands.

He greatly benefitted from knowing Fisch's system. We will see how he does next year, I'm not expecting much. I want to see Lee and ARob both have over 800 yards receiving.

If he stays healthy Arob will easily surpass 1k yards and Lee very well may too.

yeah but he also had multiple catches where he almost dropped it.  He didn't give us much confidence in his hands.

Look Keenan McCardell wasn't a speed receiver but he was great for our team.  I'm just saying that labeling or putting artifical limits on someone's potential is a tad arbitrary.  Hurns made enough of an impact and played well that I wouldn't say he can't do something.

 

Basically Keenan says that Talented guys don't always make it in the NFL.  The guys that work hard to get everything they can out of their talents make it and excel.

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Lee's best position, in my opinion, is the flanker spot, whereas he is not typically on the line of scrimmage,  avoiding the cornerback's immediate jam.  Lee is not good in beating the press.  Also, the flanker can motion, which delivers many other opportunities for Lee to stress the defense and more quickly engage his speed against the defender. 

 

I am not sure the Jag's have an ideal "X", or split end, wide receiver.  I don't believe Blackmon, Robinson, or Hurns have the speed to be ideal in that role, but they do have the ability to beat the initial press, and can gain separation in the short to intermediate routes.

I disagree, the first one appeared to be Lee misjudging the ball (sidesteps & then has to leap instead of continuing the direction he was running when the ball was thrown), in the 2nd pass Boykin made a great play and pushed the ball out of his hands (it says they didnt impede bu Boykin actually had).  Either way it clearly shows Lee using his hands to bring it into his chest to secure the ball while running which he should do. 

 

I feel it had more to do with nerves and lack of concentration on many of the missed opportunities (again he's a rookie)...

From preseason until the end of regular season I feel that Allen Hurns proved to be the best out of the receivers listed above... and you can say tons of excuses starting with the most popular he knew the playbook from college & knew what Jedd Fisch expected from him (heck if you go with that Cecil Shorts III had the Jaguars playbook from last year didnt seem to help him or Brown or Sanders when compared to the performance of Hurns).

 

Hurns had to fight to make the roster as an undrafted rookie with different QBs throwing to him, moving around to see what best fit & thru it all he came out on top.

 

You can say that he was healthy and all the injuries propelled him fwd, but I would argue that he too was injured and played thru it.

He did benefit from all the injuries we had at the WR spot.  I don't think he was the best of the receivers we had this year.  I think Robinson proved himself to be a legitimate NFL receiver, and Lee showed that he has the capability of being a big play guy when he's on the field.  Hurns had flashes, but he was inconsistent, and almost vanished at points during the season.  Still, I think he's a good depth guy for this team, and someone who has proven he can make plays. The fact that he had to fight to make the roster as an undrafted rookie is a nice story, but it doesn't make him the best receiver on the team.

I hate the "#1" that everybody here goes nuts about.  Neither of the teams in the SB had a "#1", and the last time the Pats had one they lost to the Giants.

For the Hurns and A Rob it looks like they just went by the numbers on their college roster instead of using combine measurements.


It's odd because for Lee they used his combine measurements.

I'd have to say Robinson showed the most last year as well. It's easy to forget just how much of the offseason he missed as well.

 

By all rights he should have been just as slow to adjust as Lee, but he came on strong right out of the gates.
