I still have some questions when it comes to JW and her AS. I understand that AS affects social and mental processes in the brain, but shouldn't someone with AS at least be able to understand basic social comments and interactions, and what the difference is between a polite, and impolite action is? Maybe JW really does have AS, but AS is only a small part of a much bigger problem for her. Supposedly Putin has AS, but from what I've seen, he appears to behave and talk pretty normally for a world leader, and there appears to be nothing out of the ordinary about him from a social perspective. He is eccentric at times, but nothing crazy.

 

 

I remember reading a post of JW's from last year where she said that she didn't drink: alcohol, soda, water, or juice. If that's really true, then how can she even be alive right now lol? You're telling me that a 38 year old woman can't tell the difference between those four things just by using her basic human senses of taste, sight, and smell? AS or no AS, common sense and the five basic senses are universal to every person. Either JW is actually normal and is just trolling us all for her own entertainment, or there's more to this story than just autism. I mean look at this thread alone... she started this thread out of resentment for the way that other people had been treating her on here. Wouldn't someone with her condition not even care or notice what other people said about her in the first place?

If you know that people are saying and doing things that bother you, shouldn't you realize that you're saying or doing things that bother someone else? I would think it would...but I don't know enough about AS.

100% INCORRECT!!! That's what makes her condition a disability...Common sense goes away with this disability...Her brain does not process things like yours does...while you may think everyones brains function the same, they do not...it's obvious you do not understand that, and you do not understand her condition...That's fine to not understand, but if every person's brain functioned the same, there would be no disabilities...That's what makes mental disorders such as autism, AS, OCD,ADD,ADHD, et.al...If everyone's brain functioned the same none of those conditions would exist

I don't get it. Many board members say they like me, but make me feel hated. Starting a thread about everything related to trades for all 32 teams should not cause anyone to pick on me. All I want to do is talk and read comments about football and some posters pick on me for starting a thread. Nobody else ever gets treated that way just because other posters hate the thread idea. Four years ago posters picked on me for being a cat lover. Nobody else is treated like that just because he or she loves cats. And while everybody is OK with a few other members liking multiple teams, the same posters pick on me for being a fan of more than one team - even after I clearly explained my reasoning  multiple times.

 

Why should I have to put up with this crap when the same people who pick on me say they like me? Why not treat me like you would treat any other cat lover and football fan? In those two ways, I am normal. I also know weird does not mean bad or stupid and being disabled does not make me a bad person or idiot. I have done nothing here to warrant the disrespect many board members give me. In the end, I am no weirder than any of you, just a regular cat lover and football fan who happens to have a different set of medical conditions.

 

I will not stop asking this until I get some detailed explanations, so don't think you can make it go away. If you think you are just having fun with me, explain why you think it is fun to make me mad on purpose.

Her lack of football knowledge is the most annoying thing IMO. Like when a team's offense is trying to draw the defense offsides on a 4th down play.  Doesnt even understand those basic concepts but yet is always posting and trying tell others what actually happened  in  those certain situations.

You have it backwards. Another problem on top of AS would be the small one. AS is a combination of physical, psychological, and social disorders - that is why it is called a syndrome. For example I can't be a multi-tasker.


 

I know all of the easy manners - please, thank you, shake hands, eye contact, etc. But there are other social skills that are harder to pick up on, like when I should not talk or what comments and questions are inappropriate.


 

You are wrong about the juice. I drink one flavor, apple juice, occasionally. But I have to drink it in moderation because it causes cankersores in large amounts. Grapefruit juice is a banned drink for me because I take Lipitor.


 

Alcohol is another story. I read it can trigger seizures or make epilepsy medications less effective. My current prescriptions are doing a very good job of controlling them.


 

All other drinks are just gross. They don't taste the same. I just don't like any of them.


 

I am alive because I drink lots of 1% milk.


 

And BTW the five senses are not universal to every person.

There is a difference between "lack of football knowledge" and being able to recognize exactly what is happening on the field. I could not tell from what I was seeing and hearing that was what the Lions were trying to do. That does not mean I had no idea trying to draw the defense offsides is a game strategy.
