The jags may have a perfect storm for a good trade on draft day.

#1

The Jags pick 3rd.  Most "experts" suggest there are only 2 major prospects at QB in the draft class.  They are also calling this the weakest draft class for QB in many years.  Free agency has nobody at QB worth a starting role.   If the Jags are sitting at 3 and one of the 2 major QB prospects are available, they should get plenty of offers to trade down from that spot.

Most of us want the jags to trade down every year but they never do.  This finally might be the year

A good GM will find good players no matter where he picks. I would love to see Caldwell trading down to accumulate more draft picks unless he sees exactly the player he wants at 3. Bad GM will screw up even at higher order. We have seen that more often around here.

No we aren't.  If Williams goes 2, why would someone trade with us when the only team that may take a QB will be the Jets at 6?  Raiders arent going to take one and Skins may not either, if anything the Raiders and maybe the Skins will be getting calls once said QB starts to fall.

If someone wants a qb bad enough, they aren't going to wait for one to fall past us. They will come up to get him.

I will say one thing. I hope the tacks end up with Mariota instead of Crablegs. It will set their franchise back a few more years.

You trade so that someone else won't trade to that spot and take the player you want.

If someone really likes JW or MM and one of them is gone after the 1st 2 picks, someone will want to trade with us so that someone else doesn't trade up to our spot or #4 with the Raiders.

Why wouldn't the Titans just make the trade if there is a trade out there that is really that good --- a.k.a. The Perfect Storm.

I'm assuming they would.

The Titans would be foolish not to take the ransom. If Leonard checks out at the combine, I expect he'll be a Jag

I have a feeling Winston will drop once the combine starts to interview him. I hope not though. A trade with Cleveland would be sweet.

If Mariota falls to us we might have three teams calling. Philadelphia for obvious reasons. Arizona if Arians likes the kid enough. And then you've got Buffalo who might want him as well. We'll see. It just depends. I wouldn't mind swapping our 1st round picks around with Buffalo in exchange for their 2nd round pick and next year's 1st round pick or just the 2nd round pick and CJ Spiller at RB.
