I'm curious.  How exactly is this a "fluff piece" in your eyes?  Is it because you don't understand analytics, or the point of how they're using this data? 

 

I agree with the "fluff piece" description, as the author's have really zero insight into what actually occurs behind the inner workings of the NFL teams they reviewed.  Can you imagine Belichick, going "Oh, you're writing an article on how teams use Analytics! Sure come on in, and I'll explain exactly how our operation works!"  The authors review was based on some coach/GM speak to media questions and the amount of staff the authors guesses the FOs use.

There's quite a bit in there about how Mike Mularkey/Gene never really bought in to the analytic offerings, where as Gus and Dave are all in. I think Tony's issue may have come from some of the negative comments regarding the old regime.

The "fluff" comment you're agreeing with was about a tweet that simply quoted a Caldwell interview.

 

It had nothing to do with whatever you're rambling about.

I find it curious he was asked to be positive about a season a full 6 months after it ended. I'm not sure what it means but it's interesting. Also curious - asked by whom?
