Today on Mike Dempsey's show, Ryan O. spoke about the Eagles' willingness to include Shady McCoy in a trade scenario with the Titans, Jags or Raiders. First, they'd try to move up to the low to mid teens and then part with their 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, Shady McCoy and next year's first rounder. If the Titans take Williams and this offer is on the table for the Jags, it should take Caldwell one second to accept this deal before the Eagles regain their sanity. McCoy is still relatively young and one of the top backs in the league. To get an extra 2nd this year, an extra first next year and Shady McCoy would almost allow me to forget the nightmare 1st rounders such as Soward, Matt Jones, Harvey and Blaine Gabbert.
Does anybody think this trade has any chance of happening and would anyone NOT take it? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Free Agency will answer this question because it will provide the Jags with some flexibility especially if the Jags have signed a Leo - Pass Rusher in Free Agency.
I'd take that trade without Shady, if they threw in a 5th rounder or so
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.
I would have to do some real good digging on McCoy and find out why he struggled this season. He lead the league in rushing the year before and just as history has indicated with most running backs who have career years, he fell off significantly the following year. Are his best years behind him or does he have a few more productive years left in him?

McCoy is due to be paid about $10m this year for a team that takes him on trade. The next 2 seasons he would then get paid around $7m per season. He's under contract for 3 more seasons.
So, for 1-3 get something like... RB McCoy 1-15 2-15 2016 1st round pick The future 1st round pick kicker likely puts me in the 'do it' vote side. 1 good prospect turns into 4 good prospects/players. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I would say keep McCoy and do a sign and trade that includes Maclin or Brandon Graham...

Quote:Swap Shady for Ertz or Maclin Foles and you've got yourself a deal. ^I like this.^ Quote:^I like this.^ Why?

Quote:Sounds made up Oh yeah, I thought you all knew this was 100% speculation too. They said they had no indication that it was an actual deal, Ryan O just has a severe case of RB thirst (also clamoring basically every other tweet about how we need to take an RB at 36), and was trying to find a way to shoehorn a good RB into a trade down for someone wanting to trade up for Mariota.
I'd rather push for Lane Johnson than Shady McCoy.
Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

The interesting aspect of this trade is for the Eagles to create a salary dump of $10 Mil dollars and eliminate the 11.95 Mil cap hit, attributed to Shady McCoy.
Even though McCoy will only be 27 Yrs old when the 2015 starts he very much resembles the situation the Jags had with MJD back in 2012. In 2010 and 2011, MJD had 299 and 343 carries respectively during those two years. Those were MJD's most productive years. In 2012, the wheels fell off and MJD was never the same player again. This is the situation the Eagles face with Shady McCoy. In 2013 he had 314 carries for 1607 yards. In 2014, he had 312 carries for 1317 yards. McCoy's reception totals dropped from 52 receptions in 2013 to 28 receptions in 2014. Simply put, it looks like McCoy is about to have his wheels fall off much like what happened with MJD and Chip Kelley wants to dump him before that happens. I can't see the Titans or the Raiders wanting an aging RB on his last legs any more than the Jags would want him. If the Eagles throw in their Rd 3 Pick (Pick 84) in lieu of Shady McCoy, then I think the Titans might jump on this trade and that would allow Leonard Williams to fall to the Jags, assuming they want him more than Dante Fowler. Quote:The interesting aspect of this trade is for the Eagles to create a salary dump of $10 Mil dollars and eliminate the 11.95 Mil cap hit, attributed to Shady McCoy. Yeah, it's not even close. McCoy didn't have a good year, but the burst and speed is still there. This is nothing like MJD, who already lost his burst even in the year he led the league in rushing yards. That he got tons of carries in a meaningless season just accelerated his decline.

I would rather have one of the running backs available in the draft this year, specifically Gurley. There are some good ones.

Even so, in a trade scenario it wouldn't be as much about picking up McCoy specifically as much as it would be about passing up the opportunity to trade out if we don't want to pick there. I'd think we'd be extremely open to trade out if Williams is gone.

Depending on who is taken at 1 and 2 I would jump all over this deal. Maybe mix in a late round pick or two from 2016 if possible.
