Between these two losses which one is worse?

It's kind of weird how all of these heartbreaking losses in the NFC playoff's are all connected in some way. Both of these losses are heartbreaking but which one is the very worst in your opinion?

Well you have to take into question the circumstances and settings of both losses's. Would you rather have the Jags lose the AFCCG by blowing a big lead in the final minutes? or would you be more heartbroken by losing a SB at the half inch yard line?

The Seahawks loss is probably the worst of the 4 excruiating losses that NFL teams suffered in the 2014 season playoffs (  Lions,  Cowboys,  Packers,  Seahawks ) . The Seahawks were in essence one play from the 1 yard line, with their most differential player, from having at the very least a 90 % chance of winning their 2nd consecutive Super Bowl.

Anytime you have a SB win within reach and lose it, might as well buy stock in Wild Turkey and Xanax..

It's a tough call when looking at it from that vantage point.   Especially,  since the Jaguars have never had the opportunity to be in a Super Bowl and the Seahawks won the previous Super Bowl.   Both losses would be the type that are difficult to put in the rear view mirror.   The Lions playoff loss to the Cowboys is something that lingers on with me as an example of this.   If a team that has never been to a Super Bowl gets as close as the Packers did,   it makes the answer to your question a much closer call at least for me.

If you take out what games they are in(which I know is hard to do) I would say losing a large lead so late in the game is worse than losing in a hard fought game. Then again losing in the final seconds still hurts as well.

I would be more likely to stick a bomb in my tv and watch it blow up if we were in the exact situation the Seahawks were in with their players and did what they did. Blowing a late lead is one thing, not handing the ball to the best RB in the NFL when only needing 1 yard is a completely different thing.

Definitely Seahawks. Reason being, all u had to do was just hand the ball off. That's it! Just hand the dang on ball off

That picture is epic ^^

I also voted for the pack game because from a fan perspective you had to watch your team implode after more or less dominating the entire game, and after watching your D, which has had some hard games this year, play its best game of the year, just to watch 2 bombs in OT end the season.

I voted for the Packers because it resulted in Green Bay firing the special teams coach and cutting Brandon Bostick, who received death threats and is still thinking about his deadly error every day. It can't get worse than that. The Super Bowl loss came down to a controversial play call that some people around the league said was the right decision and all Pete Carroll needed to do was admit he made a mistake, not give playcalling duties to somebody else.

Absolutely, the Packers' loss was worse.   They had that game in the bag and let it get away.

Not only that, but the Seahawks waited until there were three minutes left in regulation to even look like a playoff team. They were horrible most of the day. Seattle deserved to lose that game.

Two weeks later, Seattle fought hard to the end. It was simply a case of who makes a better decision at the goal line, Pete Carroll or Josh McDaniels.

"Deadly"? I wasn't aware anyone died due to his actions. Can we get just a tad bit of perspective here?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

A condition of which I am reminded on a fairly regular basis.

The SB loss no doubt is worse. When the Jags lost the AFCC game to the tacks in '99 I could feel that in my heart. But for conversations sake if the Jags had beaten the tacks, then lost the SB to the Rams at the 1 yard line like they did, the would've hurt my soul. I mean how do you get over something like that?

Expanding on what you mentioned,  what probably would have made the pain of a lost Super Bowl at the 1 yard line even worse for you and other Jaguars fans is knowing the team's salary cap situation would probably catch up to the franchise in the not too distant future.   I remember injuries adversely impacting the Jaguars 2000 season.   But it seemed like the team's window was closing pretty fast.

I've already seen the Jaguars lose a conference championship game by blowing a lead. It hurts, but not as much as losing a Super Bowl with seconds on the clock because of a boneheaded play call would.
