There was a tweet that said we were a good match but it was grossly misinterpreted by a number of people. The good match meant money and need, not that he would be interested to play here.

That's the exact tweet that I quoted. The only teams competing for him right now are the Seahawks, Broncos (if they can work out a new deal), and then us. It will be tough to get a guy away from winning teams like Seattle and Denver, but as the old saying goes: "Money talks". And the Jags have plenty of it.

Thomas is coming, and getting Thomas has nothing to do with Suh, if Suh comes here great but it wont stop us from getting other players

We were always the front runners to get Thomas. The only part that changed is the rumor we already offered him a contract, which teams can't do until Tuesday.

It's basically all an event of circumnavigating the rules. Teams and players are always "tentatively" agreeing to deals before they can actually sign them. That is why on Monday and even later today, you will see things like so and so agrees to deal with so and so. They won't officially sign it until Tuesday, but all the facts and details will already be hammered out, just like past years.
