LeSean McCoy - Would You Trade for Him?

#1

There have been rumors that the Eagles want to include LeSean McCoy in any 'trade-up" scenario that might help them secure Marcus Mariota.

What we know is that McCoy has a 12 Mil Cap hit and 10 Mil in salary for the 2015 season. His salary drops to 7 Mil in 2016 and 2017.

We know that Dave Caldwell said that the RB would be the final piece, but after this Free Agent period and the draft, the Jags may actually be in a position that they can compete for the Playoffs, which means the team may be in a position to take a RB.

Most of us feel that the Jags will draft a RB, but what if LeSean McCoy became available in a TRADE SCENARIO?

If LeSean McCoy became available, what is the maximum you might offer in trade to the Eagles prior to the draft so that they have the ammunition to make a viable trade offer?

I will start off offering the Jags

Rd 4 Pick (103) and Rd 6 Pick 175

Do you feel that is enough to make the trade happen?

In essence these two picks are equivalent to a late Rd 3 selection.

Your thoughts and opinions are most welcome and requested.

No.

This is a draft that is supposedly the deepest RB class in years.

While I believe strongly in the running game, especially to help a young QB, McCoy would not be worth it.

I'd rather spend a couple of picks on RBs than to trade for a guy with mileage and an expensive contract.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

No reason to. Rather get a younger guy with less money.

No, there are only two types of players in the NFL; those not worth trading for and those with too much worth to trade.

I wouldn't, he seems like a player that fits the scheme he is already in, high tempo offense running from QB shotgun handoffs. We need a bell cow like Lynch that can take a beating 20-25 times a game.

No. He's a special talent, but he's getting up there in RB years and lost a large chunk of his workload to Darren Sproles last year. Seems to me he's on the downswing, and that's why the Eagles are willing to move him.

I'd say let's take our chances on a rookie in the middle rounds, given how good this RB class looks.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bills are going to trade Kiko Alonso to the Eagles for LeSean McCoy. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter?origina...tweetembed

So much for Bryce Brown's promising career in Buffalo.

It went away quickly, actually. The Eagles needed only 20 minutes to send him to Buffalo.

It's safe to assume that Bryce Brown thought he wouldn't be blocked on the RB path by LeSean McCoy again.

The one positive for Brown is Rex " Ground n' Pound " Ryan and Greg Roman put a heavy emphasis on rushing.   Brown should still get his share of carries if he performs well in practice and the pre-season.

Don't tell TMD.

Somewhere in South Jersey a grown man salts his beer with a single tear - shed for a backup RB he hyped and ranted about pointlessly for weeks.
