What happened with Alualu?

Quote:What has made him better than McClendon? Better yet, how long do you expect McClendon to stay around? I'm not being a wise [BAD WORD REMOVED] I'm being serious.

McClendon was seriously one of several roster moves by Caldwell in desperation from losing two centers above him, and more than likely will be cut before training camp. Do we aim that low to sign someone that MIGHT be one notch better than a guy we probably wouldn't have signed anyway without injuries to our starter/backups?

A backup DE is light years more important than a 3rd string guy that likely won't be on the roster, would you not want to upgrade that backup position? I know you don't really want Alualu back in the first place, but I'm just explaining to why I believe we should move on and find a better player.

Also, our Oline is in a lot worse shape than our dline, ESPECIALLY considering all of the FA/Draft rumors.

I've made myself abundantly clear.  I don't see any point in saying the same things over and over again.  You asked who he was better than on the roster. I told you.

Do you think you are telling me something I don't know about McClendon - or why we should upgrade Alualu?  This is all obvious stuff to me. I get it.

We agree that we'd prefer to see someone else spelling Bryant.  We just disagree on the level of suck from Alualu.

I see him as a guy that fills a spot on the field while Red gets some air. Sometimes he sucks - sometimes he's OK.  You obviously think he's much worse than that.

It's not worth the effort to debate beyond that for me.

I really wasn't debating you. We agreed on most of the arguments, with the one exception that you thought Alualu was a "notch" above McClendon and I think he is about the same skill level. Not that huge of a difference in opinion.

Quote:You guys are ridiculous. There is 32 teams in the league. Let's say they all played a 4-3 defense (giving Alualu a break here). That makes 64 starting DTs in the league. Let's cut that in half. That makes 32. If there is 32 DTs better than him in the league that makes him BELOW AVERAGE.
You're ridiculous.

64 starters makes 64 the line for average.

1-32 would be top level talent.

33-64 is good to average

65-100 is below average.
