Franklin might be our best bet with bulaga close behind and newton as the 3rd option

Wow, reading that, I'm full of optimism that we can get someone.

Of course, if we draft one of the older ones, we might want to get someone young through the draft to groom as his eventual successor.

Does anyone disapprove of Orlando Franklin? Somebody in Colorado told me he thinks Franklin is always confused on the field. If he's always confused how does he have such a high rating?

I see it as move

Franklin back to tackle

Derek Newton

Jeremey Pernell

Joe Barksdale

Doug Free and draft a OT in 2nd or 3rd to replace him down the road, maybe someone they coached at the senior bowl. Im not familiar with OT prospects outside of the 1st round. But Doug Free to me sounds cheaper than all the other options and I'm thinking we get a major upgrade at C before we do at RT.

Why would we upgrade C right now? Bowanko played well for a rookie and should only get better
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Maybe Todd Herremans.. Great guy, experienced. Probably wouldn't start, but he would be good for our young O-line.

Have you watched him play the last two years? He replaced Zane Beadles at left guard because John Fox did not like what he was seeing him do at right tackle. Orlando Franklin is a natural left guard who was playing right tackle in 2013.

His last year at Right Tackle he was dominant. +16.4 rating... much higher than anyone else available including Bulaga..

Orlando Franklin

Bryan Bulaga

Joe Barksdale

Doug Free

Jeremy Parnell

In that order, and nobody else.

So why did John Fox say he is better at left guard? Last year I heard Fox was right - he did play better at left guard.

I was on the Orlando Franklin train for a long while, but I came to find out that Franklin was moved to OLG for a reason and that reason was that his pass blocking was not up to snuff and it endangered Peyton Manning and we know how much Manning detests getting pressured.

I still think that Joe Barksdale is the best short term answer and draft Cedric Ogbuehi in Rd 2 perhaps after a trade back to obtain an extra Rd 4 pick which may be used to gain another Day 2 pick.

I think his bad game in the SB was the main reason for the move

Yeah, overall he was solid there, but then after a bad Super Bowl they moved him. Overall, he would be a considerable upgrade over last year.
